    • I really like this, a few things to note tho
I purchased this for a few reasons, one, I wanted to be able to mulch leaves in my yard as we have many trees, I also have 3 big dogs and finding their ummm "presents" in the yard during fall becomes difficult lol. I don't like bagging leaves so I wanted something that would just mulch the leaves. I also planned to buy a gutter cleaner attachment, as I hate heights lol. I have never had a leaf blower before so I can't compare it to others, but now that I got one, I wish I had had this years ago. I haven't tried this on wet or old leaves but it has been dry here, so leaves have been super dry. It does an AWESOME job blowing the leaves. In minutes I had all the leaves in a pile. I was actually pretty impressed with the suction of it when put into vac mode, in some of the videos it looked like maybe it wasn't all that powerful but yeah...it sucked up leaves no problems, sometimes even very small twigs, and pine needles from a ponderosa pine. However, I have read other reviews say this and other brands don't usually "mulch" very well and I found that to be the case. It DOES shred and break down the leaves really well, and if your goal is to have less to bag, this will do the trick. But if you were wanting to really mulch it down to more of a powder you can sprinkle back onto your lawn this doesn't do that. BUT, it breaks down enough that all I had to do was dump the contents of the bag into a trash can, and then use my string trimmer to break the leaves down more. Yes you will get dusty with this as others have said, even when using the bag but...yard work is dusty dirty business so, I don't personally consider that a big deal. My one gripe is switching it over to vac mode. It is very easy to use and operate however in order to put the tube on for vac function, you have to depress a lever on the bottom of this unit to flap open the cover, and then push in the tubing, lining up the lock tabs. The release tab is kinda stiff so its a bit of a pain, then once you release the cover, its spring loaded so the blower keeps trying to pull away from you while your trying to hold the cover open, and insert the vac tube into the tabs which makes it a bit of a pain trying to hold the unit still, while lining up the tabs. I had to put the blower against a wall, then put my foot up against to brace it, to keep it from pivoting away from me while I put the tube on. Its not a huge deal tho, and definitely not a deal breaker for me. I am 5' tall, 100lb female and I found this to be fairly light weight. I have a medium size yard. Given I'm a bit of a lightweight lol, I was a bit afraid at first to use it on the high setting, but after I got a feel for it, I was able to manage it without a problem. All in all am very happy with purchase. Its so so much easier then raking or sweeping. I have a muscle condition that makes it hard for me to sweep sometimes and we have several trees that drop small berries all over the sidewalk which becomes a slip hazard after awhile, that would normally be a 10-15 min. job for me to clean all the time, this took care of it in about 1-2 min. ... show more

I was a bit skeptical at first when looking at this product-I thought for $46? This has to be some cheap gimmick. Well, I said "what the heck" and got it anyway, figuring it wouldn't be a huge loss if it didn't work or fell apart. Our yard is huge, and has lots of trees, and anything to help keep it cleaned up would be a blessing, as it is very difficult to do so. I used it for the first time yesterday and I must say I am quite impressed. It seems well built, and works extremely well-very powerful! I had to even figure out a technique because it kept picking up sticks and other debris, but got that figured out. Saves a lot of space when filling up bags as it mulches pretty well. I did not get it to use as a blower, though as I already have one. But the function is there and seemingly easy to switch out. The only things could be improved, and they're not a huge deal: 1) The shoulder bag is cheaply made. After it's first use has 2 holes in it already. Doesn't seem to affect it's function, though. 2) Get ready to get dirty! The dust it kicks up, and being as how the bag is porous, kicks out is a ton! Bag is easily connected and disconnected, though, and the large zipper makes emptying it easier. I'd consider the trash can lid attachment, but we use refuse bags and to transfer the larger amount would just be too cumbersome. 3) It is a little heavy and awkward, especially when trying to get around tight areas. But overall, it saves a lot of backache and time versus having to use a rake. 4) It got clogged a couple of times, even trying not to pick up too much at once. Just had to shut it off and tap the vacuum spout a couple of times and the clog came out. Only once did I have to separate the two pieces and manually pull out the clog. This might be more prevalent in my yard, as we have again TONS of trees and really haven't touched the yard since last fall. Again, none of the above are reasons not to rate it 5 stars.     • Great for small leaves, a little heavy.
This is great for vacuuming up small leaves. It likes to get clogged with leaves about the size of your hand. It is a little heavy and bulky which can make operation difficult over time. I'm a guy so it's not too bad for me but I know that your average woman would probably not be able to use this comfortably. I have not used any mode besides the vacuum mode. ... show more

    • Awkward and heavy...
I'm 5-4, 110, and I have a tough time using this. It's heavy for me and the bag swings all over the place. A lot of dust comes out when you turn it on. I considered returning it, but it's the least expensive one I could find. The vacuum works fine. Pine needles do tend to get stuck, but they used to get stuck in the shop vac also. Not bad, if you can handle the weight and the side bag. It was easy to assemble and it's easy to switch between vac and blower, just not easy for me to maneuver. ... show more

This is a wonderful leaf blower! I have no issues with that function. However, I found that it is not as good of a mulcher; but that's fine with me. It's a good product for the price.

    • Not Enough Power
I bought this leaf vacuum because I thought it would be perfect for my backyard and make my job quick and easy. I bought the cheap version which was around $58. I used it for an hour and I could barely tell I had done anything. Then I did an hour with a rake and a trashcan and I got more done. I know Black & Decker is a good brand but I guess you get what you pay for when you buy the cheapest one. I will be returning it because it just wasn’t doing the job I needed it to do. If you are going to invest in one, try one that cost more and has more power. Mine kept clogging, and I would have to turn it off and shake the leaves out and then try it again. Too much time spent unclogging it and not enough time cleaning my backyard. ... show more
