  • Lightweight, versatile and a pleasure to use. Take care to order the correct sanding sheets. Highly recommended!
Style: Sander
I love B&D cordless tools and I have several (drill, impact drill, weed trimmer) that all work with B&D's 20V Lithium Ion batteries. That said, I have several of these batteries and chargers, so I was thrilled to see that I could purchase a B&D sander that was without the battery, and cheaper for that reason. The sander is lightweight even with the battery. In fact, the battery adds a bit of balance to the tool and overall is very easy & comfortable to use. It comes with a "finger attachment" for corner, edge work and fine detail use. It also has a dust-collection bag that is easily removed for emptying, which should be done after every 5-10 minutes of wood sanding. (The bag should not be used for metal sanding, and a face mask or respirator is recommended in that case.) The tool also comes with two 120-grit B&D sanding sheets to get you started that are easily attached (hook & loop style) to the sander base. I would estimate the battery life to be about 30-40 minutes of continuous use, but with start/stop techniques, probably an hour or more. It has a conveniently located start-stop switch on the top of the handle. I used it today to begin sanding off old worn paint from our two Adirondack chairs so I can change their color. It was quick and easy. The vacuum feature worked great, leaving only minimal dust on the chair surfaces. I also tried it to remove rust from an old charcoal/smoker grill that we have and are converting to a planter. On the flat surfaces, it didn't do as well as on the chairs (hello naval jelly), but it did better on the rounder handles, etc. I love this tool and the convenience of cord-free operation and its easy maneuverability. ONE NOTE OF CAUTION: In order for the vacuum function to work properly, you must have 12-hole sanding pads that fit the intake holes of the sander. I made the mistake of not knowing the toll-pad hole configuration, and I ordered extra pads with the sander. Those needed to be returned and I ordered others that fit properly. If you don't do this, the vacuum mechanism will NOT work properly. Black & Decker offers replacement pads but, while of a superior quality, are very expensive. I recommend 12-hole pads by Lot Fancy that are sold on Amazon. While they do not last as long, they are pretty inexpensive at about $13/50. ... show more

  • Battery and Charger must be bought separately
Style: Sander
I had my B&D Mega Mouse sander finally bit the dust. So I saw this one that looked very similar. Now I know the description said Tool only and I thought that meant no carrying case or sanding paper. You cannot use the tool without the battery. Reminds me years ago buying a dining room table and when she gave me the price it was about $100 more. I questioned the sales person and she said "well don't you want the legs? Very disappointed. I went to the home improvement store and got the same sander with the battery & charger for $2 more. ... show more

  • Great sander for detail work
Style: Sander
So—-LOVE my little sander! Pointed tip let’s me sand into corners and lightweight means I can do projects without strain. One complaint: you must buy BATTERY separately & you need to order it (local stores don’t stock!) so that was a delay AND if you want vacuum function to work you need to buy their special sand paper so the holes are in the right place (or make your own holes—huge pain in butt). The sand paper Amazon recommended (and I bought!) did not fit the holes (that was kind of a huge fail, Amazon...) ... show more

  • Solid sander
Style: Sander
This was awesome. I bought it because I already had the battery for another tool. Glad I splurged for a cordless version with a vacuum. The vacuum works (as long as you have the right sanding sheets with holes in right place). I’d still sand outside for lower grits, but inside for the higher ones was fine. I will say the very tip of the sander looks like it’s already had some wear which is too bad. ... show more

  • Good for light and mobile sander
Style: Sander
This is by no means a Makita or plug in sander; however, it does a pretty good job. It's my go to for hard to reach places and finishing work. Works best with 3 amp or greater battery. First one developed problems / broke under heavy duty load. Second one works great (return) in a lighter us capacity. Worth the price. Quick sand paper changing, too! ... show more

  • Best for detail work, and cordless
Style: Sander
It's a cordless mouse, the best palm sander for detail work, although not as good as orbitals for even sanding. I bought it because I have an orbital and needed to get into corners and fine areas while working on cabinets, and I already had the cordless drill and saw

  • Works amazing!
Style: Sander
I love Black and Decker products and this does not fail. It is so much easier to just grab it and a battery for quick jobs or whatever needs to be done. The sanding pads don't seem to last very long or maybe I am just rough on them.

  • Great tool but BUY AN EXTRA BATTERY!
Style: Sander
4 stars not 5 for 1 reason only: My corded mouse died, the reviews on the cordless looked good - it is a B&D product after all - so I bought it. I have a home woodshop and was in the midst of finishing a project when my old one died. I let the battery charge for an hour or so before I used it, and I don't think it lasted half an hour. A full charge overnight gave me maybe an additional half an hour. Admittedly, I was doing a lot of finishing work. Having that backup battery just keeps things right on chugging. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra $ and buy the extra battery. ... show more
