This refrigerator / freezer combo so far has been great. I have only owned it for a few months but so far it is working perfectly. It does have a good feature that you can switch easily between a refrigerator or deep freezer. Once unboxed and settled it reached freezer temperature quickly even after being out in 90 degree day, in the shipping truck. Make sure you measure, this unit is tall, but based on the space we wanted to place it, it fit perfect with 1/2" to spare. The price was similar, if not cheaper, than some of the other brands we researched. The storage is not bad at 17 cubic ft. We initially had just the storage of a regular refrigerator, but it was inadequate, this gave us the ability to place items on different shelves and not have them buried. Could you bury items? Yes, but its harder in a tall freezer than a chest freezer. you'd have to really over load it. As far as noise while operating, it has a slight low pitch hum but is not noticeable once not standing directly next to the unit. Additionally, the seal on this thing is great and very strong.

We LOVE this fridge/freezer so much, we bought two. My husband and I were struggling with how much we hated our old fridge/freezer setup. It was small, and had two vertical French-style doors. We couldn’t fit anything because of how small each side was. We were looking at new setups for months, and everything we liked was too big for the fridge space we have in our kitchen, and everything that was the right size was junk. My husband mentioned one day that we could get an industrial style fridge and a separate deep freeze in another area to maximize the space that we do have. I loved the idea, so I set out to find what would work for that. More months of searching, we found a different style single unit that could be set as either a fridge or freezer that we liked and were getting ready to buy, but at that time we were still planning out wedding and got busy and distracted. We had our wedding, and most of our friends and family bought us Amazon gift cards and cash as gifts, so we came to Amazon to buy the other setup, when this appeared on my homepage. It was on sale, and we got an extra discount with our Amazon wedding registry. Even without the regular discount, this one was almost 25% bigger and about $100 cheaper than the one we were looking at. I showed my husband, and we decided to pull the trigger. Delivery was fast and easy, they brought it into our kitchen on our preferred date. We got it in place and plugged in immediately. The temperature control is extremely easy, and within a few hours the fridge was at a crisp 32°. A week later, we bought a second one! Delivery and setup was easy, and again, within a few hours the fridge was at -9°. We’ve had them both for a few months now (we bought in April/May) and we are so happy with our purchases! There is so much space, we almost don’t know what to do with it all. Our wedding cake is rock solid, and I am confident that it will be perfectly preserved for our first anniversary. They are both incredibly quiet, and if you have little at home, you don’t have to worry about sticky finger smudges, as it hides them pretty well. Both units were delivered in perfect condition without any dents or damage, and has held up well with two adults, two dogs, and four cats, who all always seem to be in the kitchen. We are so happy with our purchase and our decision to have single until fridge and freezer spaces. I purchase from Amazon often, almost every day, and this was probably the best purchase of the entire year so far.

This fridge has a great price compared to others similar on the market. My husband and I were skeptical at first but decided to buy due to the 30 day return policy at Amazon but this fridge did not disappoint. We bought two for our garage, and used one as a freezer and one as a refrigerator. Absolutely perfect, and we got twice the space of a french door refrigerator.

I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant to buy this refrigerator. I wasn't familiar with BLACK+DECKER as an appliance brand, and there was an unexplained 1-star rating online that gave me pause. However, I rolled the dice because the dimensions were perfect for my small kitchen alcove, and I'm very glad that I did. What I Liked: Perfect for Small Kitchens: The compact footprint is a perfect fit for my small kitchen alcove, where a standard-sized fridge would have been too large. Surprisingly Spacious Interior: This is the most impressive part. Despite being only 16 cu. ft., I was shocked that I could fit everything from my old, much larger 21.3 cu. ft. refrigerator inside. The internal layout is incredibly efficient. Great Features for its Size: The French door design, bottom mount freezer, and built-in ice maker are all features you'd expect on a larger, more expensive model. Quiet Operation: The refrigerator is surprisingly quiet. I barely notice it running, except for maybe a little noise during the initial startup or when the ice maker cycles, which is totally normal. Amazing Value: For the features you get in this compact size, the value at this price point is amazing. It feels like a much more expensive appliance. Sleek Look: The black finish looks modern and sleek in my kitchen. What I Didn't Like: Dim Interior LED Lighting: My only real complaint is that the interior LED lighting isn't very bright. It illuminates the space, but it could definitely be brighter to make it easier to see items tucked away in the back. Who Should Buy: Anyone with a smaller kitchen, apartment, or a tight alcove who needs a full-featured refrigerator in a compact size. Budget-conscious shoppers who want premium features like French doors and an ice maker without the premium price tag. People who are good at organizing and can take advantage of an efficient interior layout. Who Should Skip: Large families who genuinely need the cubic footage of a full-sized (22+ cu. ft.) refrigerator. Individuals who are very particular about having bright, vivid interior lighting in their appliances. Star Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars I'm very happy I took a chance on this BLACK+DECKER refrigerator. It exceeded my expectations, especially with its surprisingly large capacity and quiet operation. The value is exceptional for the price. It's the perfect solution for my small kitchen, offering modern features in a compact package. The dim interior light is the only minor flaw in an otherwise excellent and high-value appliance.
