  • Everyone with carpet and a puppy should have this cleaner.
Style: SpotClean ProHeat
I have a shaggy, cream-colored rug in my bedroom. I also have a cat, a dog, and a 3-month-old puppy. Poor decisions were made here. I bought this spot cleaner before we brought the puppy home, and after a hiccup with shipping, it finally came last week. I took some time this afternoon to test it out, and wish I'd bought it years ago. Some more specific information: -I used the Bissell 2x Pet Stain and Odor formula with the deep stain tool. It worked great for stains, although I'll have to wait for the carpet to finish drying to speak to the odor removal. -It took me about 45 minutes to clean a low-pile 8x10 rug (the whole thing, furniture removed) with this, and realized I'd forgotten how fluffy it was to walk on when it was new. The suction was good enough that the rug is drying fairly quickly, but could be a little better. I had to do several passes to get as much water out as I did. -It took another 30 minutes to clean the parts of the shaggy 9x12 that are not covered by a king-size bed. It also looks brand new, which is incredible for such a light rug. Since it's such a long pile, I didn't manage to get as much water out as the first, but sufficient that I'm not worried about it getting musty. -The rugs are only a year old, and are vacuumed twice a week. I also vacuumed them twice each before using the carpet cleaner. The amount of grunge and extra dog hair that came out of them anyway was astounding. I'll definitely be doing this more than once a year from here on out, and it's easy enough to use that I don't see that being much of a problem. -It got all of the puppy stains out. All of them. I'm amazed. I've used a couple different spot cleaners over the years to take care of pet stains, and this is miles better than anything I've tried. 10/10 would pay extra $$ for the heating feature again. -The hose cleaning tool is brilliant. Also the hose attachments come apart very easily to clean inside. Anything that I can take apart this easily to unclog dog hair gets extra points from me. I've only had it a few days, so I can't answer to the durability, but so far I'm very satisfied with this purchase. ... show more

  • Easy to use and clean, great tools
First off, you can actually clean all the parts to this. Amazing! There's a tool that collects really icky messes (like, poop) without it traveling through the whole hose. Genius. And another tool that allows you just flush the hose with clean water. Love it. Using a black light I discovered my dogs have been tinkling on my rug. I easily cleaned the affected part of the rug, and it pulled up a lot of dirt. I was surprised as it's a low traffic area, but yay! Went back over the rug with the black light and found a couple spots I missed. Rug was left lightly damp, was dry by the next morning. So easy to clean. Compact enough to just store in the closet. Not a hassle to pull out and use for a mess quickly. Having two dogs (one who gets the runs every so often and one with some incontinence) this will be so helpful. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Excellent little machine
Style: SpotClean ProHeat
I have two dogs and there is always a little accident somewhere. I purchase lots of products to clean up after pets because I can’t stand pet odor, specifically urine in my home. I love this product. It’s easy to use, lightweight, easy to store and has about the best cleaning power and suction as you can expect from a small home appliance for this purpose. I used it in a couple of tough stains on the carpet and found it very impressive with a just one application to the stain (puppy threw up awful bile “bright neon yellow” stain on light gray carpet. ). I did pretreat the stain but it was dry when I found it, so assume pre treating is wise but it did wok on stain that had been there at least a day or two. I also used it where my dog had an Number 1 accident in bed the seeped into my expensive mattress. I was devastated as my dog never has done that before and I had only just removed our regular mattress pad for regular cleaning! I used this on my mattress and admittedly went over and over the stain several Times to be sure I got everything I could. I found it to have worked very well! I just made sure I always allowed the suction to continue until I could see very little water sucking back up. It was crazy how dark the dirty water tank was! Especially since I keep a very clean bed and always have a mattress pad on. I now know that mattresses can be pretty grimy no matter how clean you are. I will use this for the same purpose and for other stains around the house. I have other Bissell products like this but in a small upright I use for cleaning carpet traffic areas and pet stains. I find these products to be great long lasting appliances as long as you make SURE to clean them well after each use. Never leave dirty water or left over solution inside the machine when storing or eventually your gaskets and filter hoses etc will break down. So clean after use as directed and you will have it forever. Also, I think they are quite economically priced for the good quality they deliver. The solutions work pretty well also but I always suggest pretreating difficult stains for best results. I also suggest really using the suction to get up as much as you can as leaving to much of the solution behind will probably bring on more staining later and take a longer time than necessary to dry. Love my Bissell products and I am totally uncompensated, just a regular customer with strong positive opinion. ... show more

  • Worth it!
Style: SpotClean ProHeat
I love this little spot cleaner. It has been so great to have around to deal with all kinds of spills, spots and stains. A few notes to keep in mind: - This is not a magic wand. If you have a 10 year old stain you want to get out, this machine will certainly help, but there are limits. In my opinion, this machine is intended to be used on fresh stains. Think: coffee I just spilled on the couch, dog just peed on the floor, wine glass knocked over, etc. I've used it for this kind of application multiple times over the last 2 months and have loved it. All that being said, I have used it on set in stains. I had a 3 year old coffee stain that I got out of a light grey carpet with this machine. As well as a mystery stain on a chair that was given to me. - I would NOT recommend adding the stain solution/formula to the clean tank. I found that as I was using it, it was better to apply the stain treatment directly to the stain with a spray bottle, then use the clean tank to just be a rinse. - I did not like either of the stain solutions it came with. They don't smell great, and smelled even worse when I was done using the machine. - if you are expecting it to be bone dry, this is not the machine for you. Frankly, I'm not sure that even professional machines leave the carpet dry. The carpet is still damp when I am done. But much less so than when I would clean up using a spray bottle and towel. - The "pro heat" is dumb. The machine does not heat the water. It seems like to me that they used the fact that the motor gets warm to call it a "heating" feature. This doesn't change the fact that I love the machine. It is still fantastic at getting fresh stains out. I like that it is pretty easy to maintain and clean. The scrubber/sprayer heads come apart so you can easily clean them. The dirty compartment has a large hole in the bottom do you could wash it. The clean compartment has a large enough hole that you can leave it open and it will dry out in-between uses. And it comes with a hose attachment for cleaning the house. ... show more

  • Outperformed RugDoctor for car interior deep clean
Style: SpotClean ProHeat
I decided to deep clean the seats of a recent used car purchase (as everyone should do occasionally); the car had a noticeable smell of body odor whenever it sat in the sun. I originally rented a RugDoctor detailer for a day, and did my best to clean the seats and carpet. It seemed to do a good job at the time, but it was a bit clunky to use, and within a few days (after the scented cleaning product wore away), the car was once again a bit pungent whenever I'd initially get in. So, I decided I would buy one for myself and try again. This seemed to fit the bill wonderfully, costing the same as three or four rentals of the RugDoctor variant. I didn't expect to work as well as the rental, but the results were pretty incredible. It is much more portable, with a smaller cleaning head, so I could more easily maneuver around the car with it. But where it shined was in the cleaning itself; when I used the RugDoctor, I definitely pulled some disgusting fluid from the seats, but not the worst I'd ever seen. Only a few weeks later, using this unit, I was shocked at how much nasty water I sucked out from the passenger seat. I pushed about 32 ounces of cleaning product solution (from RugDoctor brand concentrate, so I can't speak for the included solution) through that one seat, and the dirty water I got back looked, for lack of a more eloquent way to say it, like the most awful concentration of digestive trouble you could imagine coming out of you. And that is after having already used the RugDoctor on that same seat, only weeks prior! If I had settled for the cleaning job the RugDoctor got me, I would have never known of the swamp hiding within my passenger seat. I really wasn't expecting this product to outperform such a household name, but it absolutely blew me away. A fantastic detailer, and the heating feature is a nice touch. ... show more

  • Works great on furniture! Works great on furniture!
Style: SpotClean ProHeat
We got this to clean our couch - cats, dog and toddler left it stained and a bit smelly. After just one pass it looks like a whole new couch! Some deeper stains could use another go but I think the photos speak for themselves. It took probably 45-60 minutes to do the whole couch, and one tank of clean water was large enough for a single pass over the 4 cushions. The machine itself is a great portable size that easily fits on a closet shelf when not in use. Filling, emptying and removing the water tank is super easy, you just pull it out. The cord is long enough imo, maybe slightly shorter than your average vacuum. Fill with hot water and solution if you prefer, plug it in, turn it on, and use the trigger to spray your surface. I did use some additional oxyclean sprayed onto the cushions after wetting for the deeper stains. The suction is automatic, simply run the brush head down the surface to suck up the water. Your surface will not be 100% dry, I did my couch at 8pm and it was fully dry the next morning. I've always used Bissels and this is no exception to the quality clean they have always offered despite size. ... show more

  • This is good for small jobs.
Style: SpotClean ProHeat
I read the reviews before I bought this Bissell. Some said the hose is fragile and subject to cracking, but it held up fine for me. Others wrote that the cleaning power was not great, but again I think it does a good job. I cleaned a large sectional and it came out fine. One comment I can agree with — it takes a while for the cleaned surface to dry. I cleaned and let the fabric dry overnight and had no problem. If you have to clean and use the chair or bed the same night, I would start in the early morning and put a fan on it to speed drying. An 8 oz. bottle comes with the unit, but that only gave me slightly less than 3 tankfuls of cleaning solution (mixed with water). It took me 5 full tanks of solution to finish the whole sectional. I strongly recommend also buying the 32 oz. bottle, because you are going to need it. The amount of dirty solution that is vacuumed up is a small fraction of the amount of clean solution applied, even after going over and over areas with the suction. I think that is why the surface is so wet and takes longer to dry. My process was to spray on the solution and then use the extra brush to gently scrub, and then vacuum up what I could — that seemed to work fine. This isn’t meant to clean more than spots on carpet or other small-to-medium areas. It’s a spot cleaner that also cleans furniture, car upholstery and mattresses. For these jobs, it works well. I would buy it again. ... show more

  • STAIRS! This is the right tool!
Style: SpotClean ProHeat
Well, I've been a fan of Bissell since the cordless Crosswave. I got addicted to two-tank cleaning. It just makes sense. So for my carpets, I got the Revolution 2X Pro-heat. That thing truly is better than a rental unit. It's downfall is stairs. It's pretty big with dual brushes up front, and a gallon of hot cleaner on-board so trying to use the wand attachment while balancing the cleaner on a step is kind of like trying to duplicate Fred Astire's "Dance with a hat rack" Wrong tool. So I got the Bissell Petstain Eraser. Cordless, and with a rotary scrubbing brush, it's just too darn small for the stairs. There's a LOT of square feet of carpet on your stairs, especially when you include the risers. Do the math, you'll be surprised. It does such a good job on small stains with almost no setup, I kept that one. So I decided to try the SpotClean ProHeat Portable. This one was in the 'Goldilocks zone'. Just the right size. Big enough to do 3-6 steps at a time (depending on how deep you clean) and small enough to stay out of the way! FINALLY! It's a little leaky if you use REALLY hot water. Mine was scalding-hot, so YMMV. The suction could have been better, I'm sure it's bigger brother the 'Little Green Pro' has better suction, but it lacks a heater. You can get all the way to the corner at the back of each step. The brush doesn't quite reach, but you can spray-soak it in the hot cleaning solution, and then suck it darn-near bone-dry. Do that a few times, and you are as clean as a whistle. For just over a hundred bucks on sale, this is a clear winner. I'm going to use the Revolution to clean the carpets tomorrow, and this little gem around the periphery of the room up to the baseboards, and that last inch next to the transition to tile that the Revolution won't touch either. OH YEAH, and the edges around the door trim!!! Look down, and you'll see all the tiny places your vacuums and shampooers just won't go. This puppy will. ... show more
