It’s been a while since I cleaned my entryway stairs, mostly because I can’t stand the perfumery smell of most shampoos.     • Great cleaner, no scent
I used this solution with the Bissell Green Mini to remove a stain on a beige fabric recliner. It was extremely effective at removing the stain and in fact removed dirt around the stain, leaving a cream-colored clean spot on a previously uniformly colored "beige" (actually uniformly dirty) fabric. Now I will have to clean the whole recliner so it will match! The product quality is excellent and I didn't notice a scent. Since I am allergic to scents I bought this specifically because it is "free and clear." It worked equally well on a pet stain on a rug. I recommend this product because it worked well and didn't have un-needed scenting chemicals which could bother sensitive people and pets. ... show more

    • Cleans great with just a light scent
I like this carpet cleaning solution. While it is not scent free, it has a very light scent that is not overpowering and once your carpet is dry you can not smell at all. Does not give you a headache and it does a great job cleaning carpets.

Bissell Free & Clear OXY Carpet Deep Clean Solution – Not scent free, but not overpowering either. This really came through for me during the holidays when extended family decided at the last minute to stay at our house. 4 cats, one dog, and 15 year old carpet. I’m nose-blind, so I freaked out and picked up the Revolution Pet formula. I’m so glad I did. Easy to use, I cleaned all the rooms and the area rugs. The area rugs came out cleaner than they did in the HE washer. Very happy with the product and pleased that Bissell gives a portion of the proceeds from this product to pets in need. ... show more

    • Not your typical smelling carpet cleaner
Most of the other carpet shampoo that I’ve used always makes the room smell like I just shampooed the carpet. This stuff doesn’t smell like that. It has a very mild and pleasant smell, but it really just doesn’t smell like anything. It just makes the room not smell. So, my room goes from smelling like a dog to nothing, which is a huge plus. It doesn’t mask the odors with other scents, thy are just gone. Not even the typical wet dog smell when the carpet is still wet. As far as cleaning, this is probably the best I’ve ever used and made my half broken old Bissell shampooer clean as good as the large rental shampooers. I had a couple places where the carpet was discolored from dog vomit, and there is no trace of them at all. And I didn’t even run the shampooer over it a dozen times like I normally have to do. ... show more

    • Cleans pet stains very well – pet approved
My Bissell carpet cleaner quit, after years of excellent service, on me right after I ordered the cleaner liquid. Therefore, I tested the liquid first with my small spot cleaner. It’s fall and hairball season, including in unexpected and hidden places. In my search for a difficult stain, I found one hairball spot under the bed that could have been there for quite some time. I used the ratio recommended by my spot cleaner, and I was able to get rid of the stain in short order. Fresh stains dissolved immediately, and there was no discoloration or smell. One of my senior cats had also decided to use a light colored area rug as TP, and it was disgusting. Instead of trying to clean the spots, I decided to use my wet/dry vacuum/mop (not the Bissell one). It seemed like a good idea when I bought it, but it never seemed to get carpets really clean. I filled the tank with the recommended ratio, and I was impressed. I cleaned a low-pile carpet, and it came out like new. The higher pile carpet took quite some time to clean. However, I had tried some other cleaners before, and the results were not comparable. I was able to remove all the nasty spots with the Bissell cleaner fluid and give the carpet an overall refresh. I know with my old Bissell carpet cleaner, I would have been able to get a deep clean, but I was very pleased with the visual result. Not only was I able to remove all spots, but also all pet-related smells. Everything smelled neutral and clean. No perfume was needed to cover the pet smells, since they were just gone. I am very pleased with the results, and my cats are happy since there are no artificial smells. ... show more
