First, I will readily admit that it does not work as well as say, a 'Bissell 3624 SpotClean Professional Portable Carpet Cleaner - Corded' but it is a lot lighter and much much easier to set up, pack and clean after using. I seldom need a lot of capacity in either the spray or dirty water container so that is about perfect. It only weighs about twice as much as a typical Dustbuster and there is no cord to unwind and rewind. The battery capacity seems good so far. A significant spot cleaning will only use about one of the three available power bars when fully charged. Yes, the suction is less than a corded portable cleaner but it is adequate. First, you need to realize that vacuums do not pick up stuff, especially liquids, by suction; you get it by air flow so if you bear down or bury the nozzle in puddle you get little air flow and therefor little suction and second (think more like a tornado than a vacuum), if you are picking a significant amount of liquid or a heavy liquid then every 10-15 seconds rotate the unit so the tip it's upright and let any liquid that is accumulating to drain into the tank. About the leaks, if you don't put the clear top of the nozzle/tip on properly it will leak badly on use. Make sure the tab on the base of the unit is firmly in the clear plastic tip before snapping it in. I have seen no other significant leaks of dirty water. I never use a cleaning agent unless it is in a separate spray bottle. Water will clean most normal spills (I normally only use my unit for cleaning up after pet accidents and plain water works 98% of the time) and when you do use a cleaning agent use it very sparingly so you can rinse it all out with water. Professional rug cleaners will tell you that people using too much cleaning agent and not rinsing it all out will make it difficult to professionally clean it later. Overall I like the unit because it is cordless about half as heavy as the lightest corded wet/dry vacuum and much easier to set up, pack up and clean afterwards. It is not perfect but the best I have found so far. Update: I would like to add few ergonomic comments. It is hard for me to pull the clean water tank out of the body. I wish the grip ridges were bigger and deeper and provided more leverage to pull the reservoir out. Ditto the dirty water reservoir. The ridges in the tank are neither sharp or deep - fortunately once you release it it does not take much to pull it out. I agree with other reviews about the little doors that cover the charging port. They are an unneeded feature that makes it more difficult to plug in the charging core and a possible point of failure that could render the whole cleaner unusable. Lastly, the on/off button is hard to locate sometimes. The active portion is not clearly marked and you have to be right in the center to operate it. I wish I had purchased this before we got our puppy - it would have helped us eliminate all those accidents up immediately. This handheld vac is super easy to use: make sure it's charged, add the solution, spray, scrub, suck it all up. It really works on fresh dog pee in the carpet, and therefore prevents your carpet/couch smelling like old dog pee, which is a LOT more difficult to get out. I initially purchased it to try to get the smell of dog pee out of our couch (somehow bottles of Nature's Miracle didn't do the trick), and after several passes it seems to have helped a bit, but I think it's going to take quite a few more. Anyway: pros and cons: Pros: really great on fresh accidents (whether pet messes or other spills) and prevents stains and lingering odors, works on carpets and couches, super easy to use, keep clean, and store away. Cons: not great with eliminating old pet-related odors (although I haven't tried subbing the solution with vinegar and water, that might work), goes through the solution really, really fast (if you have a puppy you will go through bottles of this), and only holds a charge for 20-30 mins max. Recap: buy for preventative care, great for immediate use on spills, not for large surfaces or prolonged use. ... show more

This worked great for a new puppy for accidents. But the downside is that it started to leak the dirty water and after having it for a year it cut off and won’t power on. REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT FOR WARRANTY PURPOSES !!!! It will come in handy

So I have a semi inconsistent schedule where I may not get home until two hours past when I normally do. Naturally, there are accidents with my dog on those days. There really is no stain that needs to be removed due to the type of carpeting that I have, however, I do need to get the urine smell out that has dried in. I also tried this in a non-peed in area and still got the same dirty water. Pros: This is very easy to use and disassemble for cleaning. There will not be any mildew smells from the last time you used it. Very portable, well made, and it is small. I would say the suction is about 3/4 of a rug doctor when fully charged. The cleaning formula does leave your carpet soft, and does not leave behind any cleaner smell. I cleaned the same spot 3 times an every time the dirty water was a dark grey and there was no color change to my carpet. Cons: The manufacture is not lying when they say it takes 4 hours to charge and you get about a half out of use. I used both trial bottles of cleaner trying to remove urine smell from a 9x6 inch area. As usual, you need to be mindful of when and how much liquid is being removed from the carpet. If the battery is running low, you will not get much out, if the angle is not quite right, you also will not get much out. The formula that is in the trial and the extra Bissell cleaning formula is worse at getting urine smells out than Nature's Miracle pet odor eliminator (just using the spray not cleaning the carpet). You will go through cleaner like mad. Overall: I will end up keeping the product due to the size and price point. We spill coffee and other things, so it will get some use. I love that the cleaner keeps the carpet soft and there is no texture changes from cleaned locations and "untouched" areas. I will definitely be trying different solutions to get a better odor eliminator, but seeing dirt come out of a low traffic area that had no issues will make me keep it around. Hopefully it lasts longer than the 2 year warranty. ... show more
