I have area rugs that I really like but was dirty. I know they are fairly reasonable to buy from Amazon but I did not see anything that I liked. decided to clean them & this product did amazing ! They look like brand new rugs ! Happy I cleaned them ! Good product.

    • Smells bad
This doesn't smell like linen. Maybe dirty linen. It has a horrible smell and leaves my house smelling like I cleaned with a dirty wet rag. I've seen reviews regarding the crosswave parts smelling bad and now I'm wondering if maybe it was this area rug cleaner. I have used my crosswave with the the multi-surface cleaner as well as a few drops of Mr. Clean and it has never smelled bad. Would not recommend. ... show more

    • Dirt extraction
It works. When first using I didn’t think it worked but when I went to empty dirty water tank it was almost black. Using it a second time proved it worked very well.

It foams up and leaves a terrible residue on my rugs. I had to buy a different brand product that does not foam.

Didn't remove spots without the use of a dedicated spot cleaner. Not sure the difference or purpose between the multipurpose and the area rug cleaner. Seems like just something else to buy. Perhaps I can be educated about it?

Bissell cleaning solution is perfectly suited to clean safely without allergenic fragrances for you and your pets. It will maintain your machine in top working condition unlike homemade herbal solutions made with vinegar which damage the Bissel.

The media could not be loaded. This cleaned my area rug so well! I’m very impressed, my white wasn’t so white with traffic from 3 kids, 3 dogs and a hubby! This solution has brought my rug back to life... the rug I was going to replace because the dingy white upset me! So happy with the results!
