  • Great bargain!
Size: 212cc Manual Start
I bought this to use on my old Brave logsplitter, as the 30+ year old Briggs finally gave up the ghost. I was dubious, but the price between this and a new brand-name motor was nearly $500! It installed easily, even though one of the pump bracket holes stripped out. Aside from that, it was a seamless installation. It starts right up, usually on the first pull. It runs the splitter great, with power to spare. Oil changes are easy. I have nothing bad to say about this motor, and would buy it again. ... show more

  • Great motor
Size: 212cc Manual Start
I got this engine for a mini bike to replace the stock 80cc on it. It far surpassed my expectations. Has tons of power, starts first or second pull. Previously my bike had gone around 20 mph and now it goes over 40. I haven't had it for very long yet but so far it has been great and would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • Good value for the money
Size: 212cc Manual Start
I bought this engine to replace the old engine on my Troy Bilt horse tiller. It was a bolt on fit. After filling it with oil and fuel took about 3 pulls to fire it up. Since firing it up it has only taken 1 pull to fire it, warm or cold. I’m running it at varying rpm’s to break it in without any load. One thing I can suggest to the manufacturer is to give a third option for the cable throttle hook up. I had to use the side option which puts a bend in the throttle cable and had to relocate the cable control on the tiller handle. It has 2 options, one from the side and one from the front. A third option from the rear would make it an easy universal replacement engine. I will update this review after using it for a while. UPDATE: This engine has performed perfectly. Great value for the money. ... show more

  • So far it's great
Size: 212cc Manual Start
So far so good. Powers my old craftsman tiller better than the tired B&S 6.5 HP engine did. Bolted right up and started on the 2nd pull. Hopefully it lasts as long as the B&S did.

  • Engine modifications
Size: 420cc Electric Start
UPDATE; After Receiving guidance and technical assistance From Bilt Hard customer service, the engine is now running very good. I added a fuel cutoff solenoid and filter and replaced the key switch to operate it. The solenoid now cuts off the gas when I shut the engine down. I also had to clean trash from the carburetor main jet but that was from my 51 year old fuel tank, that I replaced the Bilt Hard tank with so the engine would fit in my old tractor. As of this review everything is working as it should. Thanks to the Bilt Hard team for help This Engine is a piece of crap and dangerous. Could possibly explode if not careful. I forgot to turn off the gas supply and the engine filled with gas. Both the cylinder and crankcase. You should not be able to walk away for a few minutes and gas continue to flow into the engine. I would not recommend this engine to anyone. I thought about adding a fuel solenoid, but the ignition system key does not have a 12 volt output when in the on position, only start and stop. Wish I could get my money back but I had to modify the engine to fit it to my 1974 Craftsman garden tractor. ... show more

  • Awesome replacement engine
Size: 212cc Manual Start
It's a great engine. I had a different brand engine on this tiller that had extremely low service hours on it but I failed to take adequate precautions and allowed the carburator to totally rust up. Ordered this last March and didn't actually get around to installing it until last fall. Just left it setting inside the shed with no gas. Broke it out above 3 weeks ago and actually had to use old gas in it because of time constraints. It fired and ran just fine with the old gas. Got back down there this past Sunday with new non ethanol gas with a fuel treatment added. Fired right up on the first pull. It's got a ton of power so I'm keeping it pretty low throttle and no strain whatsoever. Tremendously pleased with this engine ... show more

  • Don't waste your time or money on this POS
Size: 212cc Manual Start
Ran fine for about an hour the 1st day. Can't keep it running for any longer than a minute or two after that. Considering that I needed an engine for my log splitter, I'd give it zero stars, if I could. I'm splitting my firewood with an axe because this POS won't run.
