I was kind of hesitant to buy this mower because of some bad reviews, but the mower I got works great. It has a more powerful motor 144cc than my previous mower 125cc and at a lower price. It was easy to put together and it came with oil. it started right up and cut the tall grass easily. I heard complaints that it was too load, but it didn't seem any louder than my previous mower. Still, I just got it today so I can't say how well it will hold up. the only thing I saw wrong with it is that the height adjustment keeps slipping; It doesn't look like something that difficult to fix but I just used a tie wrap to hold it in place because I don't plan on changing the height once I set it; but technically that is a legitimate issue.

This is a great lawnmower for any small to moderate piece of property. Easy to assemble. Not as loud as other mowers but its a gas mower so you already know what to expect. Could not find a grass catching bag that would work with this model. Folds up compact enough to fot inside a small SUV. Very easy to maneuver around tight spaces.

The mower seems to have more power than my old mower. The engine is a bit bigger and more heavy. It is a bit more difficult to push. It does not have a shut-off valve for the gasoline. It starts easily and runs well. Overall, I can recommend it to other potential buyers. Assembly essentially consisted of attaching the handle. Much easier than other mowers I have had.

I love this mower. Simple, light weight, easy to maneuver. Can't find a simple mower like this at the big box stars. I live on a lake and keep this one down by the water. So much better than pushing any mower up or down that hill.

Unpackaged the mower and everything looked good. Upon first start it seemed to vibrate more than I was use to. After the first use I inspected the blade and noticed the drive shaft from the motor was a bit off center causing the blade to vibrate the whole motor assembly. After about 2 hours of use the plastic motor cover vibrated off. The screws holding it in place were threaded into plastic and completely stripped. After trying to fix that the exhaust cover was the next to go. Then the plastic dip stick assembly started to shows signs of cracking. After another 2 hours of use the whole plastic dip stick housing cracked and began leaking oil. I was desperate to make this mower work but by now zip ties and JB weld were holding together a mower with less than 8 hours of use. The grand finale was the whole plastic dip sticking house broke off spraying oil into the air and all over my leg burning my calf. I should have returned the mower after the first use. I run a small non profit community garden and was determined to make this cheap motor work. I wanted to believe it could get the job done. I was wrong. I am now left without a mower, out the money spent on it, and nursing a burn on my leg. I could assume the only problem was that it was defective and sent with a bent drive shaft. If you have to purchase this mower make sure to inspect it before using it for the first time and return it if anything seems wrong. I would be happy to be proven wrong and that this single mower was defective from day one. Until I am proven otherwise I can not recommend buying this mower. It is poorly built and even worse clearly safe.

I got this to replace my old mower that I bought 20 years ago from the local hardware store when we moved into our house. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this mower and appearance. Only required some minor assembly and engine oil was included in the package. Height adjustments are easy to make and everything is clearly marked. The engine starts up with one pull and runs flawlessly so far . Seems like a quality machine all around and luxury compared to my old one in its best condition. I feel spoiled using this one . It’s so easy to use and powerful . Highly recommend !

I wish I had not bought the mower. That's my bottom line. A friend needed a mower, so I thought I would give her my old one and buy this new Bilt Hard. Turned out her old mower just needed some TLC, so now I have two mowers. The machine came without any damage. Assembly was fairly easy. Customer service was kind. Here are some of the reasons I don't like the mower and will have to learn to like it. 1. The pull cord is at the engine, so it is pretty hard to reach and pull and hold the spring stop handle against the grip at the same time. I'm getting old, and it was pretty hard for me to pull four or five times in that stretched out posture. 2. The mower runs a little wobbly, with a slight vibration. When engaging the stop lever and the drive lever, the vibration kind of wears on my hands and arms. Might be an imbalance in the blade? 3. The three pieces held together are a chore to grip, with a slightly misaligned drive handle. It is hard to hold all three for prolonged periods. 4. The mulching setting has a lever that slides between the side discharge and the rear bagger. Without the bag in place, a build-up of fine clippings filled the back flap area, sifting through the small slot between the lever and the housing. Not a huge deal, but I will need to deal with the pile of clippings each time I mow. The engine seems powerful enough for sure. The drive belt engages okay, but there feels like some slippage. Hulky to maneuver as the rear wheels don't disengage from the drive mode and drag. I have rear wheel drive, so I need to lift the rear wheels when I am just pushing the mower to the garage when off. That's what I have. I hope to either find a person who needs a mower or learn some lessons on how to like this model. Overall, disappointed so far.
