I'm building an iron-headed, supercharged 454 big block Chevy engine. Total weight should come in around 850-900 pounds. But even with just the long-block assembly, the "750#" stand I was using was slowly sagging; I needed something better. This looks like it'll do the job nicely. HEAVY construction, easy to put together, obviously a well thought design. The fact that it basically folds in half for storage, is an awesome bonus. Side note: when it arrived, the box was SHREDDED, pieces falling out. I immediately put it together to make sure all the parts were present- and incredibly, they WERE. Don't know if that was the shippers' fault, or just the (somewhat unsubstantial packaging) for such a heavy set of hardware. Since all pieces were present and miraculously undamaged, I still give it five stars. ... show more

    • Works perfect! F150 302/5.0L Engine

Currently have a 1995 Ford F150 302/5.0L engine mounted. Works great and holds the entire engine (with all attachments). Was able to move around with relative ease and it rotates easily (more so as you break your engine down). Have this engine down to the block now so when new block arrives, I’ll take this one off and build the entire engine on the mount before attaching to the hoist and putting back in the truck. ONLY ISSUE: based on base/wheel design, it was impossible to align a suspended motor on the hoist to the mount (can’t get it in far enough). I had to remove the pin and lift the front wheels over the hoist base to get the engine mounted and then move the mount back. The base brace folded immediately so had to ‘jack’ it up (I used a pipe to pry it upward) to reinsert the pin. Once mounted…works like a charm! ... show more

Good quality stand for the money. Only gripe I have is with the low grade bolts used. They cheaped out and used 4.8 instead of 8.8 bolts on everything. Probably going to change them out to 8.8 for piece of mind.

As many have said, this is an awesome product that's built like a tank. Obviously designed by guys who've worked on engines in real life, not keyboard jockeys who watch MT. I really like the folding mechanism that allows me to put it away and not take as much floorspace as my previous stand. My only complaint is that it's low. Sitting down to work on the long block low. Very stout engine stand, delivered flawlessly with zero damage. Clearly overkill for an LS3 but I will say that it’s very stable when moving so makes up for a lot. Others look very tip happy with just 3 wheels and you have 4-500+ lbs going over doorways and in and out of garages and to your car if transporting. I’m very happy with it and it folds up and easy to maneuver. The swivel head could use some attention it has some slop with just one pin in it but you can rig something up to stop that. ... show more

Package delivered and looks destroyed. missing hardware, the hardware bag torn opened. Paint looks like been drug across ground box has been torn open and re-taped multiple times no instructions! I’m not even sure how to return this. I don’t have a way to even package it . If I had instructions I might know what I’m missing but there are odd #’s of all the hardware. ... show more
