The Big Brother Bagel Cutter Slicer Guillotine is my new favorite kitchen tool. We have bagels almost every morning. Even the pre sliced bagels have to be sliced. I like that I don’t have to mess with pre-sliced bagels anymore as they are rarely presliced evenly. Now I simply load them into the guillotine and SLAM! Bagel is ready for the toaster. And it is very satisfying to slice that bagel precisely down the middle with very little mess or effort. Cleaning is super easy. I rinse it thoroughly or pop it in the dishwasher.     • Useless, no match for NY bagels
I have a much older bagel cutter, ice had it for at least 10 years ahead I bought it at a thrift store for $4. It's served us well but it's getting a bit dull so when I saw this one, I figured why not? Such a mistake. Even beans be, fresh out of the box, the really old one is still so superior. I tried cutting two different bagels and this thing just mangled them. Instead of cutting through, it just smooshed them. The blade doesn't seem to be sharp at all. That's the point of the guard, it's supposed to be a really sharp blade. Comparing to the old one which is who-knows how old, the old one is a superior build as well. Thicker plastic everywhere, thicker (yet sharper) blade, rivets instead of screws. I'm so disappointed. Skip this. ... show more

Built from a reasonably sturdy plastic, this bagel slicer accommodates larger bagels as well as smaller ones. The serrated edge of cutting blade is sharp and able to piece all but the most stale of bagels. I cannot say how long the blade will stay sharp but it appears to be easy to sharpen with standard knife sharpening tools. ... show more

It cuts bagles very easy and perfect in halfs. Great that the whole guillotine is protected so you not cut yourself with the sharpe blate. Great addition to our kitchen equipments!

This bagel cutter was likely a return. The box looked like it had been previously opened and there were scuffs on the plexiglass sides. We bought Einstein Brother’s Bagels this morning and when I sliced one, it squished into a slide ball. I was able to pull it flat and toast it.
