This is by far my favorite mechanical pencil from Bic, it has a bigger eraser, with a comfort grip. It writes smooth and the lead doesn't break as often as some of the other mechanical pencils on the market. I'm pleased Amazon has them.

    • My most favorite mechanical pencils
These pencils are hard to find in stores, as they have changed the design of them, but when I saw this pack I knew I had to grab them right away. These pencils are my favorite to use, and I horde them and keep them away from my students. The cushioned grip makes writing easier on those days when my calloused finger is sore from all the writing. The lead comes in multiple thickness, but my favorite is .7, as it is a strong lead and it writes clearly. For those days I want to go bold, I go for the .9! The eraser is by far my most favorite part of this pencil. It is thick and allows for lots of erasing. It does not smudge like some other mechanical pencils, and it cleans up easily when you finish erasing. If you are a pen/pencil type person that is picky about what they use, you must try these, as they are the most wonderful and I believe you will get hooked on them just as much as I have. ... show more

My child has horrible handwriting and this type of mechanical pencil seems to help! Just wish they would sell the "big" eraser in a pack alone.

I recently started using these for my work day and they have quickly become my favorite pencil! It's comfortable to hold, the metal part at the bottom retracts completely so it's safe for pockets (won't stab you) and the eraser is fantastic! I've been using the same pencil for a couple months now and the eraser is going strong! ... show more

I got two packs of the BIC Velocity Max Pencil, HB2, No. 2, 0.7 mm, for my brother, who has writing callus. It is available in five different colors. This mechanical pencil helps with writer's callus. However, the eraser caps are not like the typical mechanical pencils. they are not linked to the mechanical pencil; they are a separate element that can be simply put on and removed. My brother already lost 3 mechanical pencil eraser caps because they were flimsy. So we taped them so the lead wouldn't come out. I hope BIC makes caps like a normal mechanical pencil. It should be manufactured with the entire mechanical pencil. Because if the caps can easily be removed the cap gets lost and the lead falls out. These mechanical pencils are good for callous. But the downside is the caps. ... show more
