    • Nice bed, not easy to assemble
I read reviews going in and assumed it would take like 4 hours like people were commenting. However my husband and I spent the entire day putting this together and I didn't even get the drawers finished yet. The instructions are not super clear for someone who is not experienced in building. As long as I have clear instructions I am usually good but this was multiple bags with multiple screws inside and tiny number cut outs with no indication of what is what, like just a little 11, 14, and 4 in a bag with 2 almost identical screws.. some screws/pictures were easy to figure out when you matched to numbers in instructions, others were not. Normally you will get pieces sectioned and numbered off individually so that you can match up numbers to the steps in the instructions so this was a little unclear. We managed to get it together, and did not murder each other, so I say it was a success. I do think we still have one of the sides on wrong but i don't care anymore.. My son likes it as well.. ... show more

It is exactly what I expected. The bed is sturdy and looks great. It is complex to put together (but not more than expected). We were hoping the stairs would be set up to attach to either side of the bunkbed, but we were able to drill additional holes to switch the stairs over. My husband and I put this together in about 3 or 4 hours, including at least a half hour break. It's much easier to do with two people rather than one person. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY for this to work, and you have to pay attention to which sides go which way by reading ahead in the instructions. Don't make any assumptions. My husband brought up the phrase "Measure twice, cut once." It's very similar to how you need to think about putting this together. Look at the instructions thoroughly TWICE before you put anything together. This bed seems pretty sturdy and I'm very happy with it. I only had two gripes: There was a crack in the railing piece at the top of the stairs, and one of the pieces of hardware had no threads in it! Other than that, this was a fun project to put together, it seems very sturdy, and my kids love it. What more could you ask for? ... show more

Some of the pieces once assembled aren’t sturdy and broke when climbed over at the point of where the bolt is placed. We will just secure it better but you get what you pay for

Like more other reviews, I will echo that you MUST MUST MUST follow the instructions down to the letter. If you do, you will not have any issues. It took almost 1/2 day with 2 people for us to assemble the bunk bed. But it looks really beautiful, sturdy. We (adults) tried sleeping in the upper bunk as well and it never creaked and was like a solid rock. Hope it can withstand the test of time :-) ... show more

Bed is very sturdy. Instructions ok and could be more detailed. Took about 3 1/2 hours using a drill to put together and 2 adults. Overall look of bed is nice! Grandkids love it!
