I purchased these a couple months ago and gifted them to my brother and ended up buying another pair. I had no issues with the first pair, but on the second pair the 3.5mm jack does not fit correctly and gives me audio issues so I had to exchange them. Hopefully that was just a bad pair.

Excellent pair of headphones and mic to upgrade from generic gaming headsets. The mic is very clear and can pick up your voice from a decent distance so no mic arm was needed at least in my case. It is also USB-C powered so it cannot get any simpler. It is literally pulling and play. The headset is also very clear sounding and extremely confortable to the point I didn’t want to take them off. Their open back nature makes them very good in terms of soundstage and since they’re 32 Ohms they only require the sheer power of love to be loud. In terms of built quality, they are German made. There’s nothing more to say. Many people are a bit upset that the cable in the headset is not removable, but it seems sturdy enough that you may have to actually try to break it to do any damage. Also, the USB-C cable they bundle is about 6ft and SUPER BRIGHT ORANGE, so if you need a longer cable or you don’t vibe with the color, you might want to buy an extra one.

I owned a pair of DT990's a while ago and returned them. I could not stand how bright the highs were and just not much bass. So I was a bit skeptical at first of buying another Beyer set. The headphones are absolutely phenomanal! Bass is just enough to be impactful and the highs are definitely not too bright but are plenty still. I use this combo mostly for PC gaming while using the mic for talking on Discord. My friends have told me that the quality of my voice was noticed right away. I will say that I don't care for the high/low gain on the mic. It really should have been a nob to adjust or low/med/high. Low is just too low unless you are going to record some loud music through it. The headphones do work with a phone or even just plug and play on your PC. However, I have a dac/amp combo and it does sound better! So these do work very well with extra power and I would recommend it if you truly want to see how these deliver. Still, you can plug them right into the mic and be fine. I have found that you can buy this set separate now which is nice. I had no problem buying both though because I am tired of gaming headsets with the poor quality of mics they include. That and gaming headsets are just not of the sound quality a true audiophile headphone is (which these are in my opinion). The last thing I will say is that music also comes alive with this headset!

Gave this 3 stars for the mic. If it was just the headphones it'd be an easy 5 star recommendation. They mic isn't any better sounding than my mod mic, it's pita because of it's size, and it's generally just not worth the hassle. The headphones are great though. I have several sets of headphones and these have become my daily music and game go to's. They have nice fun sound without being to bass heavy or to bright. Excellent positional detail and good sound stage. These won't replace something like the DT 1990's, but they won't make you want to remove them after a couple of hours of listening either.

For the price I would expect a lot more. I bought these to replace a Sennheiser game one that the mic broke on. First: despite being open back they are hot on your ears. Compared to Sennheiser they are extraordinarily hotter. 2: the sound was no better. They are both good sounding but considering the price to get this bundle it should be more impressive. One side sounded slightly louder than the othe too. 3. Despite 32 ohms they need a Dac or Headphone amp. When hooked up to my phone at max volume they simply weren’t as loud as they should be. I never listen to something at max volume on my phone but with these I would. 4. While light it still feels like you have perfectly round unforgiving cans on your ears. As someone who works for Sony and has a ton of headphones and always uses my sennheiser at computer it simply wasn’t anywhere close to comfortable to me. I don’t know about the mic I never opened that box.
