  • Great little Tomato Frog Home!
Size: Large
I wanted something light weight to stack on top of my dumpy frog tank to move this little tomato friend into since surface space is precious in our small home. I took the chance on this acrylic tank in the largest size and so far I'm pleased with it! It did take a little while of peeling since the acrylic boards come un-peeled and the paper-y film does not want to come off in single satisfying sheets but rather tears around all the holes and connector puzzle piece edges. I do make acrylic charms as part of my art business however so peeling acrylic is something I'm quite used to but if you aren't this could get easily frustrating. The instructions are barebones which isn't an issue since it is literally a box except for when it comes to the top 'lock' tabs that are screwed in to the lid, they just show basically a picture of: tab piece + screw + vague area that might be the lid or the side which sounds like it would be enough but given the tab was facing a completely different direction in the illustration than how it actually goes on it did give me a few moments of problem solving. That said it wasn't a huge deal. I placed a clear plastic sheet in the bottom of the tank with a few inches extra folded up against each wall to form a "bowl" since I wasn't entirely sure how well this thing would hold water around the seams if Mr.Motato decided to go for a big splashy swim time or for whatever reason a water spill got down that far. You could also just use a bit of aquarium silicone sealant if you wanted something more permanent/effective but this solution means I can break it down flat again if I want to. The temp/humidity gauge seems very slow. It said 77degrees for nearly the entire day after getting it out of the box despite it being in a 71degree area. It was already on for some reason in the package and it was around 77 outside where the box was left so likely it was stuck thinking it was that temp due to a slow read. This morning it is saying 74degrees which is more likely given we have the house at around 71degrees and he does have a tiny hermit crab heater on the opposite side that should be shifting the heat up a little bit. Not sure exactly how accurate it is though. The humidity % changes much more readily. Overall not too worried about this since these things are fairly cheap to replace. I like the nearly seamless look of the acrylic tank, it gives a very clean/clear look to the whole set-up which I think looks a lot nicer than the alternative glass with front doors and a big black strip at the top, bottom and middle (exo-terra and zilla styles) I normally go with. It's not as heavy duty for sure but for a raised bachelor pad this was the right tank. Keep in mind that if you need to heat these you are going to want a HERMIT CRAB under tank heater, those are the only UTHs that are rated for use on any plastic/acrylic tanks. Other heaters may damage the acrylic and even release nasty fumes if they get too hot. So far the hermit crab heater i got for 13 bucks at petco has been working great under the raised tank. Overall this was a great buy, it's one of the largest acrylic tanks you can get on amazon, comes with the essential heat/humidity gauge, looks sleek, and the price is good for what you get. Most importantly my grumpy little boy seems happy! ... show more

  • Pretty solid feeding tank!
Size: Large
Love using this when feeding and cleaning out my California King Snake's tank, she fits in it perfectly (she's about 4 1/2 feet long) The thermometer is a little hit or miss on the temp, but I don't really use it too much because she's in there for a very short amount of time. It's very durable plastic and fairly easy to put together, I take it apart to clean it and it's very easy to clean because I can just throw it into the dishwasher. Gave it 4 stars because the locks are kinda hit or miss, she's pushed through this a few times startling me, but never makes it far, if the locks were more secure it'd be a 10/10! I'd mostly recommend it just for feedings/cleanings or for travel, nothing more, definitely would be good to keep crickets or roaches in though! ... show more

  • Easy and quick to assemble!
Size: Large
Putting it together was easy! I went out of my way to not scratch it but didn't have any issues. The dirt does come out when moving the tank, just dont move it and then no problem! Im using it for a whip spider right now. Its holding temp and humidity just great so far!

  • Sagging lid
Size: Small
All the panels of the product came nice and flat with the exception of the lid. The lid has a really bad sag in the middle and seems to be getting worse. Contacted seller and they told me to flip it around.. I’m worried the curve is deep enough to allow my spiderling to slip out so I won’t be using this enclosure any more. The lid was bent like this right out of the box by the way. The second picture is how it looks after flipping the lid like the seller advised. I’m housing a small spiderling in here which will definitely be able to slip through that gap so I’m kinda at a loss here with this lid and no hope for an exchange of just the lid. ... show more

  • Warps with time - decent habitat
Size: Small
The media could not be loaded. I have had this particular product as well as a larger size and a vertical dimension for arboreal terrantulas since the summer of 2022. I will list all aspects I liked, disliked and my solutions. In my video, I show a quick view of one I assembled, and then the same model that is inhabited. These products have a great price point in comparison to the grossly overpriced trending brands. This particular model does NOT have the capacity to hold any type of moisture when soaking substrate, which needs o be one in winter months in New England when the home heat is used, and dries out the indoor environment. Unless you have a temperature and humidity controlled, dedicated criter room, these habitats dry out quickly from the large vent holes. These holes also allow smaller pray or critters to escape. These are NOT for slings or juvenile tarantula. What I have done to fix this is put caulking around the bottom and let the habitat ventilate until the odor is gone. Using aquarium caulking is also recommended since fish are in the water with the caulking and are safe, so any critter would also be safe. Many tanks are also a high density plexiglass rather than real glass now, so adhesion would be a success. The feeding hole on this model was a white plastic piece with the part number 22 on it. These come out with a slight breeze. I found an adventurous critter had lifted it out of the hole and was making her great escape. At that time I discarded the part and taped both sides of the hole with packing tape. With the next one I assembled, I put one of the assembly elastics around his part on the inside of the habitat, and it was held in place. It keeps the feeding hole option in place if I want it. All of the pieces have a tendency to warp with time, and temperature changes.bwhen my home neared 90 degrees Fahrenheit during late July, early August - I do not own A/C - the habitat warped. This can be an issue for prey to escape(feeder insects) or smaller species. Pay attention to the structure, and do not place a watering bottle or other items on the surface of this habitat in hot weather; the plastic is not rigid in warmer weather or direct light, and will warp. I have not iscovered a way to fix it, yet. I may take a heat source to it and then flatten it in my freezer as a trial. I really like these for viewing and keeping adult tarantula, but wish they were water tight, did not warp easily(at the hinge line in last picture), and the feeding hole plug had a more snug fit. ... show more
