I have been through 4 pool covers with my summer waves pool. Each one I have purchased previously were all made of tarp like material, which would eventually dry rot and fall apart into the pool. I live in Florida and the sun here doesn’t give a shit about you, so have a thin pool cover sitting directly in the sun over my pool everyday it’s getting baked to death. I can gladly say this pool cover is made of a different material. It’s kind of a rubbery cloth. In the heat of the sun it becomes pliable and stretchy which is concerning for the future but, for now it’s holding up. The string isn’t too sturdy and without clasps to hold onto the pool legs, hard wind tore this off the pool. I took the clasps off my old cover and attached them to this one with zip ties. Hope this lasts through at least a year. ... show more

You can't rip and tug the ever living crap out of these things or guess what.... they're gonna fail, they're gonna rip... the material is NOT indestructible. Overall this does its job, I found it a bit difficult to match the size even though this is the dedicated pool cover for my pool. The cover is pretty loose on the pool and even after tightening the drawcord it remains pretty loose. It does, however, cover the pool and will keep leaves out. I’m still reserving some judgement until I see if this stays in place during any heavy winds. I would’ve liked to see this fit with an elastic band around the edge that really snugs to the pool. Maybe I’ll make something to tie around the rim of the pool to hold the cover more securely. ... show more

I'm a first time pool owner, so a lot of pool related stuff is new to me. I expected this pool cover to fit, but it was a struggle and a half. I own a basic 12ft metal frame pool, so this cover should have been a breeze to put on. It was not. It took 2 people over an HOUR just to get it around the pool. One person had to stand on one side, while the other person stood on the other side, holding the cover in place because if one of us moved, it slipped right off into the water. After we FINALLY got it to where it wasn't slipping off on its own, we tried to tighten the cord..........that was another hassle in itself because the piece that's supposed to hold the cords tight, is junk, and the cover slipped as soon as I pulled the cords. We ended up having to have one person hold the cover in place, on on side, while the other tried to tighten the cords. It took us about 2 hours, total, to get the cover on, get it to STAY on, and get the cords tightened. It's technically on the pool, but it DEFINITELY isn't going to last through the rest of the summer. Look elsewhere because this thing is NOT worth the $ or the hassle. 🙄 ... show more

I ordered this pool cover for $5 for my Summer Escapes brand 10x30 pool. Surprisingly for the price, it fits very well. The pool cover is made from the same material as a basic, cheap tarp. There are a few intended holes in the center of the tarp for drainage. To attach the pool cover to the pool, there are holes with strings attached spaced out to line up with the pool legs. Each of these holes are reinforced with a metal circle thingy to avoid tears. The string supplied is terrible, ours frayed beyond use after one use. We are going to have to replace them. I may try to lace something stretchy like a bungee cord through the holes so that way I can pull to tighten at one point on the cover rather than tie at every single leg. Pro: Inexpensive Fits the pool perfectly Will keep out light weight debris while we aren't using the pool Cons: Probably won't last more than a summer season, tops. Strings are substandard quality Takes a little while to take on/off because you need to tie/untie cover from each leg Recommendation: I've never owned s pool this size before or had the need to buy a cover, therefore I don't know how this pool cover compares to other brands. However, this cover was a lot cheaper than the other brands on Amazon, and I feel it was worth the $5 I paid. If you are looking for an inexpensive pool cover this one will work just fine. ... show more
