A bit too large for my desktop application but narrow enough and satisfactory with proper positioning and adjustment. The port produces a nice punch volume and frequency knobs work well and unit works nicely with my low cost book shelf system.

    • Drown out the upstairs troglodytes with brown noise!

Bought this because my upstairs neighbors stomp around like they've never learned to walk upright. Very loud, lights shake, moving dressers back and forth, drilling and hammering things into the floor. For hours at a time... At 2:30-3:30am every morning, they have to stumble drunkenly into the bathroom to pee. Not surprising, we'd wake up as they struggled to walk the 5 ft to the bathroom. I found "sleep sounds" on Google play, set brown noise up, and have it playing all night, and can actually sleep until my alarm goes off now! I only have to have it at 10-40% volume, depending on how drunkenly they stumble around. The subwoofer is also nice and light, so I can easily bring it from the bedroom in the morning, out into the upper kitchen cabinet during the day, and generally only have to turn it up to about 50% to block out most of the construction noise about us, and allow us to concentrate on work. Would definitely recommend if you're trying to get some sleep, and live below the croods, practicing construction, and trying to solve whether their heels can make it through the floor. ... show more

It is small and looks nice but the bass is weak. It may work with small PC speakers but certainly not with bookshelf speakers. It is too weak to keep up with anything more than small PC speakers. It does not have auto power off. A little bit power and auto power on/off would have made it a great subwoofer. ... show more

Sounds great when it works. Goes perfect with my setup. Good for tight spaces. Why the 1 star? Well it had a 15min shut off feature that I hate. When I pause a movie or go for a smoke when I come back the sub is off so when I restart my movie or game I have no sound and I have to crawl on the ground and reach around back to cycle the power off and on EVERY SINGLE TIME. I read the book and it says I can shut off this feature and ahows a picture of the switch to do so, but alas my sub has no such switch It says the sub should turn back on when the sound resumes but mine does not. I'm tired of reaching around back on the floor 20 times a day to reset it. Other than the the sound is great WHEN IT WORKS ... show more

This is just a good bass speaker. Will not blow the windows out but adds natural bass to your sound. Several ways to hook up provided. Instructions useless, just have to guess.

I ordered this subwoofer to add to our outside patio to assist my 2x outdoor 2-way speakers. The subwoofer works great at lower levels. However, it is unable to keep up with high powered 2-ways at higher volumes but this is not unexpected. It supplies adequate base for the price point. It did add some more fullness to the sound to assist with the lower bass frequencies. I am now using it for a supplementary subwoofer to 2x indoor bookshelf speakers and it added the missing lows/fullness of bass. It is now fall (Ohio) so it was time to bring it inside. Good for a smaller indoor sound system that does not have extreme loudness applications. I would not recommend for a very loud setup as it cannot keep up and will be drowned out. The controls on the back could be a little bit better, as the indefinitely spinning gain knob makes it hard to accurately adjust the level. ... show more
