Description

Upgrade your personal protective equipment with the sturdy yet lightweight Husqvarna Chainsaw Helmet. A great addition to your forestry tools and chainsaw safety gear, this HDPE helmet shell includes a protective face shield for eye protection, ear protectors for hearing protection, and a sun peak for blocking sunlight. This helmet is made with a 6-point textile suspension and three settings which let you easily adjust the depth of how it sits on your head with either a slip ratchet. Plus, an Egyptian cotton core sweatband designed with a PU coating allows for maximum sweat absorption and is also PH neutral and dermatologically tested. The adjustable ear muffs let you control the width and height for a comfortable fit and great noise exclusion despite low pressure (ANSI S3.19-1974, 24dB NRR). In addition, the chainsaw face shield uses a nylon/metal mesh visor which you can easily lower or raise for excellent visibility and water runoff. These chainsaw accessories meet and exceed ISEA / ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type I with Electrical Insulation standards—Rated to Class E. In addition to this chainsaw safety helmet, Husqvarna offers a variety of chainsaw safety equipment like protective chainsaw chaps, work gloves and ear protection.

    • Great Helmet - Easy-ish Assembly
I wore this helmet for a couple hours today and have the following to report: • Assembly was easy, though poorly documented so uncertainty reigned. Tip: just slam stuff together, it's dead easy. • During assembly, the mesh visor was difficult to seat. I used a retracted utility knife as a way to apply a lot of force to snap the visor in place. The little retaining studs the visor popped behind did not break off. I was amazed. • The helmet is better than wearing safety glasses because the wire mesh does not fog up so you maintain excellent visibility. Some say you should wear safety glasses too. I think I'm safer when I can see and nothing drifted into my eyes through two hours of use. • The ear muffs work great. They have a metal strip in them that holds them up or against your head. You just push the muffs down and they grab your head. They are great. • The head strap is easy to adjust and the sweat band is appreciated. UPDATE: I've worn this helmet through 5 gallons of gas worth of chainsawing. It's great. I also wear it when string trimming. The ear muffs are fantastic. It is wear-all-day comfortable. The metal mesh front is fantastic. When you're bushwhacking up to a tree that is surrounded by bushes and stickers, this is a great thing to wear to keep things from poking you in your face and eyes. The only thing that has made it through the mesh is dust from rotten trees. UPDATE 2022: Bought this helmet two years ago. After much use, sweat rusted through the screen of the visor. A new Husqvarna 505665321 Metal Mesh Visor Face Screen Black Forest Helmet and I'm back in business. Wish I could have bought this on Amazon. ... show more

I was unsure whether to spend so much on this item as there are cheaper alternatives BUT I have no regrets now that I use it. It doesn't get so hot, the sound reduction is good and it's nice and light. The shield is really good too, fine mesh but doesn't block your view but does protect. Although many purchasers have complained that it is difficult to set up, it took no more than 5 minutes; I will say it can be tough to get pieces into place, but not no means difficult. Instructions were not needed as it was fairly self-explanatory to assemble. The helmet it is is a JSP Evo 6100 series Type 1 hard hat that is orange and has the Husky logo on it. It is not the best strap on the market, but supposedly can be adjusted from 6 1/2" to 8". The hearing protectors are attached to the arms via bits of plastic, so we will see how long those will hold up. The face shield is made of wire mesh that is trimmed with plastic; it does not provide the best overall protection but should protect from saw chips while cutting and small twigs and branches slapping you in the face. It is decently comfortable to wear and does a good job of blocking out noise. Overall, it is not the best/most expensive helmet on the market, but unless you're a professional sawyer you should find this helmet sufficient enough for small trimming jobs and cutting up logs for firewood. ... show more

I'd recommend this helmet, and I'd buy another one. I've used this regularly for 2+ years, but not daily. The face-shield protects my face well, but not my eyes. I wear goggles under the face-shield. The visor was very hard to attach, but one of the Amazon comments described how to do that. The visor is essential, don't give-up on getting it attached. I bought a different helmet for tree climbing (Petzel). The ear muffs and face-shield from this Husqvarna helmet fit on the Petzel well. That saved a lot of money vs. buying new ear muffs and face-shield for the Petzel. I then put 3-M ear muffs on this Husqvarna helmet, and they mounted just fine. ... show more

This solid, beautifully designed Husqvarna Head Protection Helmet fits like a Glove ! Secure, snug and comfortable, the adjustable head strap angles down in the back to perfectly fit my skull and the Ear Protectors are like nothing I have ever worn before, easy to adjust and lock in place. You can't knock this head gear off. I have previously owned 2 other Stihl brand that were a major disappointment, always coming loose and constantly falling off, never again. This is what I'd consider the minimum quality to be useful. It works as intended and I really like the snap up ear muffs. I'm giving it 5 stars for value. A pro grade helmet is about 4x more expensive. I'm using this helmet around 10 days per month and it's holding up well. Don't buy this if you climb, but for ground work it's adequate. ... show more

I now know why I skipped the $40 helmet and chose this one for $65. This is a great helmet. I can't hear much through these ear coverings and the fit is perfect. It feels great on my head. Thank you, Husqvarna, for lending your name to the great helmet maker who came up with this design.

I just put together the helmet and it is fairly easy although the extra visor piece I could not get on so after several minutes, just tossed it aside - I can't imagine it will block much sun anyway. Maybe I'll try it again later... The whole helmet overall is kind of flimsy, particularly the screen that protects your face, but it should protect your head and ears alright. Overall, a decent deal for what I paid, and will provide the protection I need for the small jobs around my yard like cutting firewood or clearing big branches/small trees, but I'm guessing this wouldn't be a logger's first choice. ... show more
