Reviews scared me off a little but the crystal strands were not difficult to assemble as others implied. They did take time to fasten. Pretty straightforward to assemble. Good thing I’m a “need the picture” to put things together because the instructions are focused on the electrical install but very little on the actual assembly. Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat! It looks amazing hanging in my bedroom. The price was affordable. The glass beads shiny. The metal is a blurred combo of both gold & silver so the color isn’t gaudy. No missing or broken parts. The 1st picture you’ll click onto has scalloped trim on the metal. The 2nd picture does not - the 2nd pic is what you’ll actually receive. Just FYI If you’re considering this French Empire chandelier just go for it because it’s beautiful! Update: it is beautiful but too small for my space, moving it to a small bathroom. After many, many hours of pin needle sized hooks I have finally assembled it. The finished product is beautiful but that assembly- mama Mia. Do not listen to the instructions and assemble after the light is installed, you'll be up there all day cursing to the high heavens. I love the light though, so like labor, I've already forgotten the pain. ... show more

I like that the light fixture is close to the ceiling and does not hang low. Although I have 9' ceilings, I think this light makes the room look bigger.

The media could not be loaded. Beautiful addition to our sitting room! We added a light dimmer and are so pleased with this light fixture! It looks elegant and formal without breaking the budget! Assembly was a small challenge because each strand needed to be hung and the hanging rings were not the easiest to work with but I brought out the ladder and my readers and found a groove quicky...well worth the effort! ... show more

It helps having a second set of hands and taking breaks between stringing the beads. It's every other hole for the long strings and the holes in between are filled by the single crystal. I used LEDs with 60watt equivalent because I prefer it very bright.

So it is not that difficult or time-consuming to assemble. I hung it on my cello stand to assemble. You first put the fixture together per the diagram. Then add the crystal strands. You open (not hard to do) one side of the wire and poke it through the appropriate hole, which is obvious from the picture. It took me maybe up to half an hour. It is just not a big deal, unless you are extremely unhandy and cannot understand the picture. Also please disregard the reviewer who says he will have to undo the crystals to change the bulb. NO! You just stick your hand between two lower strands of crystals! It could not be easier. They move a little to the side. Anyway, I love this fixture! It is above my bathtub, and when I get curtains for the window I will come back and add a photo of the whole scene. I am using an “Edison” bulb, quotes because it is shaped like a regular bulb, not elongated, but you can see the filament and it has a golden glow. The bulb is LED (long-lasting) and dimmable, and I have mine on a dimmer switch. I previously had a white hanging light fixture, and it was unnoticeable against the white ceiling. This stands out, in the best possible way. It is a great value, my opinion. Highly recommend. I would like the flush mount one for my closet, but just spent a fortune re-doing the bathroom.
