The main issue with linear power strips, at least for me, is that with the boxy plugs that are prevalent for many computer related items (external hard drive, usb hubs, etc...) they are too large to cover only one individual outlet. If you have a linear strip you may only be able to use two out of six outlets because of the size of the plug. With this power tower I can put a boxy plug into each outlet without shadowing any other outlet. Try doing that with a linear power strip. You will have to buy several of them which leads to a mess of cords and a loss of space. I have this power tower and I can plug in 8 different items in a relatively small space, which on a computer desk is important. Save yourself time money and frustration with this unit as opposed to other units that are a wasted of money and time and space. ... show more

So spent some time looking for a nice power hub for this custom hand welded coffee table a friend made. The table being the center of my entertainment room really needed a power source that fit its industrial look. So this POWER TOWER now ornaments the center of its tempered glass top, and I couldn't be happier. Especially since the table is very decorative and huge (I'd show a picture but you the reader of this review would be jealous of my amazing table). This power block is amazing! The plug is flat enough to have it plugged up behind furniture. I do recommend using the power box if you need a fast charger for a phone. I take this everywhere I travel.

This is a pretty cool product. There are plenty of outlets and usb ports and the wireless charging surface on top has proven to be very convenient. The one this I don't like about it is that sometimes the usb ports don't work. I've had to try several different ports to get one that works a few times. The wireless charging surface is the same. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. You may need to slide whatever device you're charging around for a while before it starts to charge. I just experienced the same issue as others have - after over a year (about 16 months), all 6 USB port green lights started flashing. As others stated, I also found that this surge protector is known for having all 6 USB ports fail. If it's worth the $$ to you to have a working unit for just over a year, it may be worth it - it did perform well until then. If you can get a 2 or 3 year extended warranty, it would be worth it as it looks like it would pay for itself. I will always do this when possible going forward. ... show more
