I held off on writing a review of this product until I could see how well these clamps withstood the cold and wet conditions of my backyard. After using them for 18 months now, I can say they are sturdier than I expected and have held up to the harsh weather I have in my zone 6b backyard. We get pounding winds, snow and lots of rain over the fall, winter and spring months. I anticipated that they would fail overtime as they rusted. However, I am pleasantly surprised. Though the joints do rust a bit, it doesn’t hinder their performance. In fact the only ones that have been ruined were those that I have accidentally stepped on! These clips are true to the details listed. They open to a width of about an inch. I use them to attach row covers to my garden beds. They do tend to tear the frost cloth, but I have learned to double over the cloth before clamping to avoid this. I am ordering more, as I have just constructed more beds this season.
