  • Mostly Great, but...
Color: Camping Extra Large Stove
This is very good quality and well thought out** - I selected this one because it can be used with a variety of feul sources - fire wood, pellets, gas burner set inside where wools would vurn) etc. So it seems really good. **However, I am rather surprised to find that there is No Ash retention tray,. There is no containment, bottom, no barrier or protection of any kind between the open grid the fuel burns on and whatever surface the unit is placed on. I will be trying to find a round stainless steel tray that fits well under this before I will burn anything in it,. It's still "functional" if you want to put it on a flat rock or paver - but Not a deck or table. Otherwise: great construction, quality steel nice usable size, packs compactly, and looks nice. • Worth it.
Color: Camping Extra Large Stove
Good quality. A little heavy for backpacking but doable. Requires attention, not a set it and forget it. I had better results with pellets versus twigs.

  • Built with Precision, Nice Mini Grill, Wide Range of Power Control
My second set. The first one disappeared, while cleaning out the garage. Probably some lucky GoodWill shopper got it. Compared to the first one, a lot of improvement: 1) precision machine cut, 2) nice grill, 3) removable burner protector for grilling, 4) Air intake is redesigned with wire mesh, easy to adjust the flames. The gas jet's orifice is rather wide, so a large amount of gas shoots out, when the throttle is wide open. When lighting, have the lighter lit next to the gas holes. Otherwise, you will be greeted with a surprising WHOOSH! And any hair on your hand will turn to ashes. Be sure to light the stove from a low flame. With the throttle wide open, the flame roars, and hits the sidewalls, and then goes 90 degrees straight up. This is just too much fire power, and is no good for the thin sheet metal. It will warp, but when cooled, it returns to the original shape. I wish that the orifice of the jet is a tad smaller in diameter, so that it will be easier to adjust the flame size. The burner puts out so much power, so the usable flame size is achieved with a very little opening of the valve. But if you like the spectacle of the fire power, you will enjoy it. I do not plan to burn wood in this. I will keep it as a gas grill/stove. ... show more

  • Small but powerful – for best results completely open storage bag first!
The media could not be loaded. This is a great little camp stove, though not exactly light enough for some backpackers. For anyone overestimating the size of it from looking at pictures, one of the pics clearly shows dimensions in metric. A simple conversion shows the firebox is approximately six inches wide by eight inches long. That is certainly small, but it packs a punch. IMPORTANT NOTE: assembly instructions are printed INSIDE the storage bag! Open the Velcro along both sides and lay it out flat so that you can read the proper way to put the stove together. I did not realize this at first and wasted needless time searching out and downloading instructions online. Only when I pulled all of the pieces out of the bag did I notice the instructions. It would certainly be nice if the manufacturer included a note with the stove explaining this for the unsuspecting customer. That said, assembly is fairly easy, as is disassembly and storage. It is extremely fast to swap between burner and grill tops. The individual pieces are thicker than many portable wood burners, which does contribute to more heft than one would expect in a stove this size. That’s a good thing though, as I have not seen any signs of warping in the burns I have done so far. For fuel, it will handle about any flammable solid you throw in it, including small branches, lumber scraps, leaves, charcoal, etc. You may even be able to use it for emergency cooking indoors with Sterno fuel as long as you have decent ventilation. Although I have not actually tried this yet, I can confirm that two fuel cans fit perfectly. Airflow in this thing is impressive. Even when I dumped a smothering handful of wood scraps on a freshly started fire, it continued to draw and eventually burst into flame. Fires burn vigorously and hot with just twigs or other small pieces of wood. Be aware that flames shoot up everywhere, and any fuel that sticks out the open front may burn through and fall out onto the ground. Place the stove in a safe location and keep anything flammable a safe distance away. I carry a square of welding blanket in my pack, which worked perfect as a base for this. So far the only thing I have “cooked” on this stove was a pot of coffee. I plan to do some actual cooking on it sometime soon, but I can say that it did not take long at all to perk a full pot of coffee. There is just something awesome about starting the day with fresh coffee perked over flame out in the woods! So, to summarize: Yes it is quite small, but it works great for one person. Open the storage bag all the way for clear instructions that greatly simplify assembly. Be careful and don’t start a wildfire! With these things in mind, it’s a great little stove. Whether you get it for emergency preparedness only, or for solo camping, it will do a fine job. ... show more

  • Love my little guy
Color: Camping Extra Large Stove
Love it... Got it for me.... Guy night .... Just me and the fire.... Might do some marshmallows idk... Update: since using it to cook now ... I noticed less is better... I read a review that said too much wood stalls the fire ... That is the case .. so it's a good thing and bad.... Good that it requires less wood to get a good flame but you do have to feed more often... I still love it. ... show more

  • The best & biggest wood & charcoal stove.
Color: Camping Extra Large Stove
This size is a real stove! It's Like comparing the size of a baseball to a basketball. It's for serious cooking. It can also handle a 10 inch cast iron skillet or a cast iron griddle for pancakes. It makes my previous wood or charcoal stove a toy. I bought, and now have two such burners.
