All necessary hardware is included. Do not use this product for children or pets under 50 pounds (22.7 kg).

I have *almost* only positive things to say about this murphy bed. Here are the pros: - The bed looks great. - It was easy to assemble. I don't understand the reviews from people who had to hire multiple handymen and the handymen struggled and took hours to assemble the bed. It took my husband about 5 hours, total, to assemble the bed. And, the only assistance he needed from me was to help him put the metal frame into the wooden base. My husband says that building this bed was easier than any piece of furniture that we have ever purchased from the Swedish store that we all know and love. - The customer service from the seller is outstanding. I would purchase from them again. I received very quick answers and resolutions to any question or problem that I had. Here is the con (that isn't entirely the sellers fault): - Shipping is slow. It took us 9 weeks to have all parts of our bed. The shipping company that the seller uses wasn't the most reliable. The shipping company contacted me and was supposed to deliver the bed in the quoted time frame that the seller provided. But on the scheduled delivery date (and delivery time window), the shipping company never showed up. I contacted the seller and the seller contacted the shipping company. The shipping company then called me and rescheduled. When the bed arrived, one of the boxes was in bad shape. There was a large hole in the box and several of the smaller parts had fallen out. I contacted the seller and the seller shipped the missing parts to me. The seller was apologetic and resolved the problem completely. ** We changed out the handles that came with the bed. The handles that were included were brushed nickel. The quality was fine. It just didn't match our decor. ... show more

Initially, I was skeptical of purchasing a Murphy Bed online, mostly, because I was concerned about the quality and craftsmanship for the, what I considered, a reasonable price. I spent quite a bit of time researching other Murphy Bed manufacturers, both local and online. Saw a lot of bad reviews from various other companies. Even got a quote from a very reputable local manufacturer, who, by the way, indicated that a Murphy Bed purchased online would not be decent quality because they were so much cheaper. Their quote for a "full size" bed was $4,800 (installed), which, for a custom piece of quality furniture, was not that unreasonable but I certainly couldn't afford that. My further research led me to believe that Belstar was a good deal and seemed to be good quality, so I took the chance of the "cheaper" alternative and ordered a full size model. It took a while longer than I'd hoped to be delivered, but I deduced that, that was due to the fact that it is made in Canada and with Covid19 things are more difficult to get, especially from Canada. But, once the product was delivered, I was very pleased with the communication and delivery, very professional and courteous. Enough background, my review is that the Murphy Bed is exceptional quality, very well made, sturdy and attractive. I have to agree with other reviewers, that the instructions were not at all complimentary to the quality of the product. Even though they were lengthy and well thought out, they were lacking various assembly tips and tricks that would have made the process a little less frustrating. Being from Canada myself, now in the USA, it was quite obvious that the translation from French to English could have been better so the instructions could be improved immensely. With that only failing,it took my wife and I a complete day to assemble, which was anticipated, and once the obvious mistakes due to misreading the installation instructions was overcome, it was a great success. We are both very adept at assembly and building, but if you are not, get some help, you will need it. We love the product mechanical and material quality and it is a wonderful addition to my office, where it is installed. Other than wishing the instructions had been better, the only thing I would have wanted is the ability to use a thicker mattress. Please believe the manufacturers warning that it will not accommodate a mattress thicker than 10", believe me I tried. I question the reviewer that indicated she put a 12" bed in the product with no problem because I had to replace my 12" with a much smaller mattress for it to work properly. I anticipated that problem so it was not such a big surprise, disappointing, but not surprising. Well done Belstar, but please get some advice on improving your assembly instructions. ... show more

We got the white stand alone (no additional side cabinets) full size unit for a guest room. It took 2 people (one who builds houses, one who basic skills to use a screw driver!) from 10:30am - 4:00pm to assemble. If you follow the directions step by step, literally step by step you will be fine. Everything was included, nothing missing. The delivery service was excellent and communicated all info about delivery. It is not a high end furniture piece, but is a good solid unit and the bed pulls down nicely. The only negative is the bars to hold the mattress in place when folded up are not really big enough for the mattress to stay in place when folded up. The mattress purchased is within the limitations for the unit so they should offer bigger holding bars for a thicker mattress that they specify is allowed. So when the bed is down for use you have to pull the mattress to sit in the appropriate place. Otherwise it looks great and will be so much better than a nasty couch pull out. My guests will appreciate a real mattress to sleep on. ... show more
