I recently got what was considered a coffee table (although the same height as a dining table) with a glass top. I got it as a gift for a friend who bought a new (actually a 100+ year old) house. He's not very good with his hands so I helped him assemble it since the legs overlapped each other in an unusual way. This one is straight forward to assemble as it's not tricky at all to install the legs. The spacing of them makes it easier to use with chairs, so you can call it a small dining table as opposed to a coffee table. The legs reminded me of my late father's ancient gold clubs. He was raised by an older aunt who loved golf, so he used to play. If the clubs were in better shape, they might be valuable, because they were a signature brand of an old-time golfer and looked like they had wooden shafts. The shafts were actually steel but encased in a thin layer of real wood veneer. These do not use real wood over the steel, but they do have the look of wood and the strength of steel. The top is wood and very attractive it comes indifferent colors. Of the choices offered by the Vine, this is my second favorite of the six finishes. Wood top is a Pecan finish on top of a fairly high-quality engineered wood base. The other table I mentioned could be used on an outdoor porch, but I wouldn't recommend this for that. I'd recommend a clear or translucent vinyl or other waterproof tablecloth as while this is pretty good quality, engineered wood does not do well with moisture. I had some cabinets built with it in my basement and a light flood turned them all into scrap. It won't hurt the legs, but the top should not be wet directly as it could damage it. Likewise, engineered wood is not as strong as hardwood, so attaching the legs be careful not to over tighten the connectors. I avoid engineered wood products with doors as often over time the hinges start to loosen. This has no problem as it has very little stress the way the legs are designed. I like the separation as they allow for the use of four small dining chairs (not included). Fairly good price and easy assembly, it makes a decent gift, or a good compact table for a smaller home or apartment. Recommended. ... show more

Nice faux wood MCM table. The legs are sturdy and have adjustable feet to keep it stable. Kind of small for your average dining table, but would work nicely in a small space.
