First, the BCP Customer Service Team should get 5 stars on their own. (I’ll rate the seller after I make this post). My set had a slight flaw and after I reached out they were able to quickly help resolve - hassle free on my end! Second, assembly is a breeze - if you read through the reviews first you will see what the one common issue is assembling, allowing you to be proactive :) The instructions that were included are 98% clear and are easy to follow. The catch is that there is definitely a right leg and a left leg - and a front and back to each. The holes are all correctly pre-drilled and if you lay it out in advance, you should be able to get the pieces to attach correctly. Total assembly took me 20-30 minutes. Third, I read through a ton of reviews to determine ease of assembly and gauge the level of comfort. Every store I’ve been in lately I’ve tested out the patio furniture in hopes of something I feel like I could sit for hours in (or even 20 minutes). The reviews really didn’t disappoint. It is a little lower to the ground, which I like, but my elderly in-laws have a little harder time getting up off of. We bought this futon for the Florida room in our house. We wanted a dual purpose piece for sitting and to be used as an extra guest bed. This fits the bill perfectly. It’s a little lower than I expected as I didn’t pay attention to the measurements but the firm cushion makes getting up easy. I enjoy a firm seating cushion and for me this is fantastic. My husband and I put it together fairly easily. As others have stated, the directions and fittings leave much to be desired. Through trial and error we figured out which way to place the side pieces. Some of the pre-drilled holes weren’t big enough and we had to enlarge them for the screws to fit. The sides didn’t drop as they were supposed to. The pieces were cut just a bit too long. A slight sanding solved the problem and the sides now drop down easily for when we want to convert the couch into the bed. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a cheap couch to put in my patio and this was perfect! For $300 it is great quality. The couch is sturdy and the cushions definitely seem weather-resistant. I've had no issues with it. Some reviews said that the drill holes weren't lined up properly, but I didn't have that issue at all. A perfect addition to our screened in porch! All of the woodwork is quality, including recesses for the hardware. There weren’t any rough edges or mid-matched holes. Wood putty has carefully disguised previous joints connecting the wood. You can see there was attention to detail during the manufacturing process. The bench feels sturdy and like it will last a long time, even outdoors, since it is covered and screened in. The cushions are much thicker than I expected, which is great. You don’t feel any of the wood frame through them. It is comfortable in all configurations and the pull out tray also feels sturdy and of good quality. I’m really glad we took a chance on this having only one review. We used wood glue in addition to the screws provided just for extra longevity but the assembly was straight forward and the instructions were clear. First the good news: The wood is of reasonably good quality (at least for the price), and the design is nice (I wanted something low to the ground, and not sure why people complain about that since the thing is exactly the same size as they say it is). The bad news is the terrible quality control. I also had the same problem as everyone else with the position of the holes to put the back on. While it is true that you can simply drill new holes, it is worth noting that the original holes actually have a metal insert that the bolts screw into, so simply pushing the bolts into a plain hole will result in a flimsier final product. An even more serious problem was that the two legs were of different sizes (as you can see in the picture, they are off about 1/2 inch). Because those legs use a mortise and tenon joint in addition to the bolts, there was no way to put this together as is- it simply wouldn't fit. I had to chisel the tenons a bit thinner and the mortise a bit wider to make it fit, but of coarse that means the whole thing is more unstable. I fired up an online chat session with tech support and the nice guy on the other end informed me that they can not send me a replacement leg. Instead, he offered a 25% refund... I asked for 50% and we settled on 40% (i.e. $150 refund). I added a few more screws to stabilize the whole thing, and in the end I was pleased with the final product, even though it was a pain to assemble. Do Not Buy This Unless You Have Your Own Drill, Wood Screws, a Level, Wood Glue, at least Two People and a Pillow to Scream into. Even if you have all those things, it’s obvious they’re selling defective furniture here bc most people would try to make it work rather than figure out the logistics of a return with such a large item. *Don’t do what I did and ignore the comments about manufacturers defects and holes not lining up*. This took me hours to put together and because none of the holes lined up, I had to use my own screws. Due to the angles and the side supports having an inch of dead space in between, I had to use several screws on each side and the wood split. Does NOT recline. I can’t believe I just spent $400 to get a headache. The only nice thing I can say is the cushion seems to be good quality but everything else is crap. If you already have another outdoor couch in your cart, buy that one bc this one is terrible. ... show more
