Gorgeous and surprisingly comfy! easy to assemble too, I will say leaning back is a little risky if you're a heavier weight. it only clips at the base in place, so be careful with that. I will be buying some thin cushions to put underneath the seat cushions just to make it a little more supportive and comfortable, although the cushions are fine on their own! Really perfect for my basement and having somewhere to sit other than my bed! It was SUPER EASY to assemble and the feet and cushions are in a zippered pocket under the couch. Very convenient! Update: not even 24 hours later the thin frame snapped in half when I simply sat down ....I'm 175 lbs and sat down normally and the stapled cloth towards the back snapped in two! ... show more

    • Not comfortable to sit or sleep on. VERY HARD! Disappointed!
I will start off with the positives. It is very easy to assemble (I weigh significantly less than the couch and I did it alone in 10 minutes). Esthetically it looks good, although the pillows are very tiny. The couch is VERY VERY HARD and it is uncomfortable to sit or sleep on. It seems like it can hold 2 people sitting on it that weigh no more than 350-400lbs as it seems like it would collapse. If this is going to be your primary couch getting a lot of use, I DO NOT recommend for the above reasons. I would love to return it but it is too much of a complicated process. Very unhappy as I will have to buy another couch due to the fact I cant sit on it comfortably as a main couch!! ... show more

I've given it four out of five stars because I haven't had it long enough, but so far it feels sturdier than it may look, the pieces were easily put together, which there weren't many, the two armrests and the legs. It's quite comfortable, opens and closes easily, looks great, plus the material is not harsh, the size is about same as a full size bed and it folds pretty easy. The media could not be loaded. I am shocked at how great this futon couch is for the affordable price! We have a loft area in our new home that isn’t used too much, but we wanted an option for friends to stay over if needed. This futon is easy to change positions, comfortable, and looks great in any space! I wish I knew about this in college. It also comes with the 2 matching pillows, which looks great when it’s all together. Fairly easy assembly, but pretty heavy - I definitely could not move it alone. The only 2 positives about the couch is that it is affordable and the dark grey color looks very nice. Unfortunately, there are many negatives about this couch. The couch is not very comfortable as you can feel the springs and wooden frame due to little padding under seats. The screwed-on legs are not very sturdy and will easily shift over time which could lead to couch breaking. My couch actually cracked and broke under the armrest after exactly 1 year of normal use. Overall, this couch is about as cheap as you find, but it is quite uncomfortable and will not last. ... show more

Here’s a pretty detailed review because I feel this is necessary. I looked for a couch/futon for MONTHS that was inexpensive and modern-looking. I had my doubts about almost every listing I saw on every platform I searched on. The reviews were always 50/50 and I stressed about sealing the deal on every couch. I finally pulled the trigger on this one and I do not regret it AT ALL. It’s an inexpensive couch, I did not expect it to be the most comfortable thing ever. But I can’t even complain about the comfort - it is comfy to sit on and I’ve taken many naps on it so far. I was not necessarily looking for a futon, but found that most inexpensive couches were mostly futons or sleepers. I have a twin size mattress topper that fits on it perfectly should someone need to sleep on it (it is not comfortable enough for a guest to sleep on - pretty stiff on your back). It functions as a recliner as well, with multiple settings the lean back and can do different angles on the left and right side. Assembly - took less than 5 minutes. You just screw legs in (there are 6 total). Package - was certainly heavy (as expected). I opened it on my front porch and removed the couch itself instead of attempting to lift the box. PSA - the legs and screws are located inside the couch in a pocket on the backside. It clearly states this but took me a moment to discover. Moral of the story, don’t overthink this purchase. The media could not be loaded. After 3weeks with no furniture, I needed something that would be delivered in less than a week for my living room. I decided on this futon. I got it in 3 days, whereas if I had ordered an actual couch from a furniture store I could be looking at delivery dates well into September. After reading the reviews, and knowing I eventually will want something to replace it by the fall, I knew this was only going to be a temporary solution. I don’t have pets and I’m 169lbs, and laying on this futon beats having only chairs in the living room to relax on. So about the futon - to me it looks more light blue than light gray but I’m fine with that. I moved and assembled the thing all by myself, it is too heavy to lift when it arrives, but I was able to push the box from the lobby to my unit. Very easy to assemble and all necessary tools come with. The directions indicate to slide the arms on first, but I found it easier to do that last after the legs were screwed in and the futon upright. Weight limit on here says 550lbs but the info pamphlet that comes with says 500lbs. Also, I’m 5’4 and when I lay down I have only a few inches of room from my feet to the arm rest, so anyone taller might find laying between the armrests challenging without removing them.
