The rod itself feels great but only after the second time I took it out I noticed a minor cosmetic imperfction. Part of the clear coat was already chipped off... The rod itself was great but it's unfortunate part of it is already damaged. I was careful to store it properly and everything. Maybe it was a defect that I didn't catch when I received it but either way, it works. I used it for some crab snaring and it did it's job ... show more

Decent for a cheap surf rod

Bought this as a cheap way to get lures out further when throwing plugs for striper. Seems to be fairly high quality build. I wish that the first guide was a little bit bigger, definitely smaller than most other spinning surf rods. Does not seem to overly affect casting distance
