First off, i was a guide and charter capt for 8 years. Although i dont fish as often now, i still have a good idea about gear, plus i have built/repair a few rods too. Just so you know where my feedback comes from. This review is based on my first impressions upon inboxing. I will update after use. This seems to be a very good rod. It is light while it has a good backbone. I need to try it in real life but it feels a touch over its line rate 10-20lbs which means it is a fast action blank. The components are good: fuji concept o guides, no brand but standard decent reel seat, cork butt cap, shrinking tube grips with well done wrapping and resin. Not a single complaint. It is shipped in a safe packaging (always a concern with amazon, i had rods in the past that came in broken due to poor packaging) inside a neoprene sleeve and a box. Highly recommended, for now. I will update after using.

Was extremely impressed with the quality of this rod! for the price I paid I definitely wasn't expecting what I got. I got the 11 ft paired with 6000 Rockaway surf reel. For a surf combo under $200 its really light and launches baits like nobody's business.

When the package came off the UPS truck I was relieved to see that the cardboard shipping box from Amazon was in perfect shape. No hole’s dents or creases of any kind. When I pulled the rod out of the neoprene storage case the second guide on the upper half was bent down. It looks to me like the guide must have been damaged when it was put into the case.The ceramic ring looked to be intact so I straightened the guide as best I could. It’s not perfect but I don’t believe it will affect the performance. Any more tweaking and I’ll probably break the ring or crack the wrapping. The rod itself looks beautiful and has a nice balance and feel when casting. Using a 6000 Penn Pursuit and 4oz weight it easily casts 100 yards. The rod is lightweight and easy to handle. I also picked up a Berrypro Shadow Hunter in the 13’3” model. They’re both MH which I prefer for the Florida pompano fishing I’ll be doing later this year. The Shadow hunter seems a little stiffer and will out cast the Ultimate Hunt model with the same weight. They both look like good quality products, I wish the Fuji guides were an option on some of the other rods it’s the main reason I was willing to pay a little extra for the Ultimate Hunt rod. I’m looking forward to getting both of these rods to the surf and comparing them in action. I’ll update when I have a chance to get some fish on the beach and see how they compare side by side.

I fish a LOT and have several high dollar rods, mostly GLoomis. I bought this for throwing spinners in the bay for chinook. This is a GREAT rod. Quality, feel, and action all check all boxes. Customer service is excellent. I had a small issue when rod was first delivered, but after visiting with customer service, the issue was quickly resolved. I am a happy customer and recommend this product to all, whether a novice , or a seasoned salty dog, you can’t go wrong!!!

Love the Berrypro rods. They are a great bargin considering the quality of the product. I exlusively use Berrypro rods for saltwater fishing. The fit and finish is more than anyone can ever expect at this price point. I own many other rods that are significantly more expensive and have not held up as well as these. I use this rod for surf fishing in North Carolina. This particular rod just rencenly pulled in false albacore all day long fishing Cape Lookout. If you have faught Albies/Bonita you know that they put up a good fight ! Love this rod ! Also looks great :)

Been using BerryPro rods for years. Last year I’ve purchase this UH1102 to replace my old rod. Contacted customer service for an issue. The customer service was very helpful and the service was top notch. I will definitely purchase another BerryPro again. Thank you and now we can fish again!!!!!

Extremely Satisfied with this amazing product! Used for Southern California surf fishing and it works perfectly! From shores to bays to jetties to harbors, it does it all. I’ve landed halibut, croaker, spotted and sand bass, even various species of rays and skates. The rod holds up well against big fishing and has enough finesse to cast light lures for distance with ease. The warranty plan came through for me as I needed to have one replaced and it was all done very swiftly, back out fishing within 2 weeks. Incredible product from a reliable company.
