Description

The low-cost 4-thread and 3 needle coverstitch machine – for professional hems The Bernette B42 Coverstitch Only Overlock Serger is a coverstitch machine featuring a total of 3 different coverstitches with a width of 2.8 and 5.6 mm and a chain stitch. With the Bernette B42 Coverstitch Only Overlock Serger, you can provide your hems, edges and cuffs with professional stitches, giving your sewing project the perfect look. Excellent results can be achieved with the Bernette B42 Coverstitch Only Overlock Serger, even with very stretchy fabrics and thin knitted fabrics. Threading the needles and loopers is also really easy, thanks to the separate needle threader and the looper threading mechanism. And to give you a good view of your sewing project, the Bernette B42 Coverstitch Only Overlock Serger also has a bright LED light. This machine will allow you to hem T-Shirts, attach lace, attach taping and binding, sew decorative stitching, attach elastic, attach lace, do belt loop stitching, circular hemming, attach elastic lace & hem stitching The cover stitch is especially suited to stretchy fabrics like knits, as well as the popular new blends of traditional woven fabrics with a small percentage of stretch fiber added for extra flexibility. The Coverstitch series machines are ideal for constructing projects from fashion tops to competition ice skating costumes. The cover stitch is a serger-type stitch made without the knives (no fabric is cut), so it can be used not only to finish hems, necklines, collars and cuffs, but also for decorative effects in the middle of the fabric. Cover stitches can be made with two or three needles. For example, a double needle cover stitch will show two lines of straight stitching on the top of the fabric with the two lines joined by a looping stitch on the bottom side. Because both sides of a cover stitch are finished, it looks great with decorative thread.

  • Solid Coverstitch Machine!
Really like this solid coverstitch machine. (One small con I didn't think was enough to reduce rating - the lights above the sewing plate are very VERY bright. I simply put a light yellow sticky note over the light case and it solved the problem.) This machine is well built and sturdy, even though the outside case is plastic. I have found the recommended tension markings to be very close to what I actually had the machine at for the various stitches. Keep in mind this is NOT a serger. It only does 4 stitches, which for a coverstitch machine is all I need. If you are familiar with the manual threading of a serger, this threading will be a piece of cake. No problems so far and success in making my first "professional" looking knit garment! Definitely recommend this simple, but solid machine! ... show more

  • Great Coverstitch Machine!
Very happy with this purchase with so many of today's fashions using coverstitch, so it was a must have machine in my sewing room. I like the optional accessories, especially the clear foot for matching up the stop stitches with the starting stitches. Threading was easy for me too. The only drawback is not being built with a free arm, but I found no problem using it for hemming pant legs. ... show more

  • Presser foot
Don't know what I did wrong, but the presser foot once removed is extremely difficult to put back on. Sliding it forward and sideways to no avail. Frustrating! Eventually, as if by magic, it went back on.

  • Handles thick seams like crap
The media could not be loaded. Sooo annoyed 😭

  • Smooth like butter
Honestly it was challenging at first but once you get the hang of it,it'll get easier. If you are familiar with a serger than you'll get use to it more quickly. Definitely works beautifully and it's just what I needed. Beautiful!!!

  • Small footprint and easy to thread.
It is a reasonable price compare to other brands. It looks like an excellent machine. The exterior is plastic, like any other brand. Easy to thread. It is not an automatic thread, but it is not complicated at all. I tested it when I got it two days ago. I am waiting for the weekend to try it more.

  • I wanted to love it
But it was too complicated to thread, and the only helpful video online was in Swedish.

  • Amazing machine!
I have not threaded mine. I just tie onto thread and pull thru. works every time and makes really easy to thread.
