I paired my 6'6'' medium-heavy St Croix Triumph rod with a Daiwa Tatula 100 baitcast reel to us as my topwater and light jigging striped bass rig. I've caught over 100 keeper sized striped bass on it so far and am really liking it. The Triumph rod is super light weight, has a sensitive tip, and still has a strong enough backbone to handle big fish. This is the perfect rod for striped bass.
