Very good quality for a good price. Magnet sticks to it, so it's coated steel or iron. It is pretty small, however, the inner diameter is 1 1/4". It fits thin broomstick style fishing pole handles, but not ergonomic grips or the wider base of a 16 ft crappie pole I bought it for. It is slightly smaller (1/16" narrower, 1/2" shorter coil) than the similar more expensive orange model also on Amazon. Because the coil is not very deep, I would only use this for occasional duty with light-med action rigs, such as holding a pole while you tie a lure or to grab a bite from your lunch or respond to a text. Not sure I'd trust this unattended... if you get a bite, you want to be able to grab that pole fast before it possibly pulls out. Can't speak to longevity, since it didn't fit my pole, I returning it. I'd recommend the seller add dimensions to the listing ... show more

Light weight but sturdy and easy to carry to your fishing spot. I mainly use it for my ultra light rod but it's still robust enough to keep my rod stable even when I get strikes. For the price I think it's worth buying.

For the price, it’s a very well constructed rod holder. It feels quality, heavy and hold my rods without issue. It’s also small enough ti fit in my 12 inch wide fishing box and easily installs into the dirt.
