I have the exact same rod in a casting rod. Over the last two years I have caught everything from bass to channel catfish to Atlantic salmon on the casting rod, so when one of my walleye rods broke I didn't hesitate to replace it with a cherrywood hd spinning rod. The spinning rod appears to be as well built as the casting. It's nicely balanced with an Abu Garcia spinning reel. So far this rod has been awesome. It is very light weight and has great sensitivity. I have read some other reviews that said the rod snapped on the first fish, however I have caught a few big fish and have had no issues. It is a beautiful rod in sunlight as well

So I want to start this off by saying that I have about an 8 year old Berkley Cherrywood that I actually really like. It is one of my favorite rods and I have a bunch that are CONSIDERABLY more money than it cost. So I decided I needed to add another to the arsenal. I bought this one, second day broke the rod setting the hook on a fish. Thought, no problem must be a defective rod. So I went to Walmart got the same rod and went back to fishing. 2 hrs later broke that rod the same way. Mind you this is the EXACT same model rod that I have had for almost a decade and I fish that one the exact same way and never had an issue with it. Just saying they obviously changed blanks or something since then and it isn't anywhere near as strong. ... show more

I ordered a 7' rod and only got the bottom half. I'll wait to see if the top half was shipped in a separate box. OK, got the replacement, both pieces are here. Love it!!! I will be returning the mistake within the week.
