I have an arched fireplace that makes it challenging to fit one of these built in type heaters. With a bit of eyeballing and tape measurering the opening I found the biggest one that would fit into my fireplace. With a hope and prayer I ordered the trim kit as well hoping it would cover the rest of the opening. I am pleasantly surprised with the final fitting. Top of the trim just barely covers the opening. Heat output is nice. And surprisingly quiet. I expected the blower to be louder, but it is very quiet. Visual effects are nice at their basic level, a bit gimmicky with the colored lights on. Similar thoughts on the fire crackling sound effects, a bit gimmicky but not terrible at its lowest setting. Unit slid into place easily and the trim even has a slot for the power cord to come out in the lower right corner. ... show more

This is a fantastic insert. It looks extremely convincing and is well made. As others have mentioned, the sound function is not great but we use a small Bluetooth speaker and the "mynoise" app to play realistic fireplace sounds instead. Custom knobs from Etsy were an easy upgrade. Lastly, for total immersion, we sometimes burn a little hickory incense with a couple drops of liquid smoke which turns this little unit into a very realistic, cozy and woodsy smelling fireplace. The media could not be loaded. Replaced my real fireplace with this. I just wanted the ambiance without the heat. Very realistic look. The heater works well if needed, heats the room like any 1500w space heater, but more efficient to just use my hvac system. As others mentioned, the crackle speaker sounds pretty bad, so I wouldn’t recommend using that. If you want the look of a real fireplace without the constant heat, this is it. Very easy to install, just slide right in. There wasn’t any mounting hardware though, so make sure you’re able to slide it in snuggly to hold it in place without fastening it. ... show more

I love this. It fit perfectly inside of my fireplace. It puts out a good amount of heat. Has a variety of different settings. I use it a lot in the winter and haven’t had any issues with it. Great for the price I paid and was super easy to install.

Love the color options. Crackling sound doesn’t really sound the same. Definitely looks great finished. Had an issue with the first one being damaged in transit. No issues getting the replacement. Actually got it the day before sending the damaged one back. Great seller to work with!! Extremely happy I bought this for my mother in-law!! Definitely go with the trim too. Bought this because it was less costly than others. Overall, the unit is nice and gives the look of a real fireplace. The glass doors don’t stay closed. The magnet is not strong enough or misaligned. The unit itself needed to be shimmed because it would not sit flush in the frame I built The front vent could be bigger but it does a nice job heating up the area. Lastly, the “fire sounds” is more like someone rustling paper and is comically bad. ... show more
