    • Frustrating to install
Actually mounting the bar is trivial taking only seconds. I'm using it on a BenQ DP3205u monitor. Great light, great monitor. The frustrating part starts with an awful manual and the expectation you can power it from your monitor. Read the manual carefully. Requires 5v, 1A minimum delivered via a USB A connector via a short cord. My monitor has 3 USB A ports, but it appears none offer sufficient power (light flickers when connected to any of the three available A ports. The monitor manual only states the power output capability of the USB C ports. The A port power limits not given. So, we all have those tiny Apple power blocks somewhere. They are 5v, 1A and will work. But the USB cable from the lamp is short so somehow you need to get a 110v outlet on your desktop to hold that Apple power cube. Frustrating. All the pictures give you the idea the device is powered via a connection to the computer. Oh, and the monitor manual is equally poor. A call to BenQ support informed me of a control described on page 70-71 of the DP3205u manual needs to be set to ON for power output at the USB-A ports. Also the USB setting should be USB 3.2, but my unit only offered 3.1. I have not confirmed that this works since I'd already solved my problem with an external brick, and old 12 Watt Apple unit. ... show more

    • It is more than the wired version
I previously got one for my child, it's very nice. So I decided to get one for myself. Thinking that I don't need to spend for aesthetics reasons so I bought the wired version instead, i.e. the screenbar plus with dial. Immediately I found that it's a touch too bright at its lowest settings, and I noticed there's a reflection of the light bar at the top of the monitor (32 inch 4k monitor). Returning that one and bought another screenbar halo. Everything's still good: brightness is good, no reflections at all, and the backlight is pleasing. So, for me, the halo version of the screenbar is definitively the one to get, it's more than just wired vs wireless dial. Downside? Quite expensive for a "desk lamp". ... show more

This seems like a well-built product. All the parts feel sturdy and hefty but not heavy. It was easy to setup and the wireless controller was easy to use. I had two issues though. The first and most important for me that will prevent me from continuing to use it is the depth of my curved monitor. I have the Alienware AW3423DW Ultrawide OLED monitor which has a deep plastic back that prevents the light from being able to clamp correctly to the back of the monitor. The spring in the clamp has decent strength which prevents it from lying flat which is what it would need to do to be compatible with this monitor. I'd also prefer if it could get a little dimmer. The lowest dim setting is still a bit bright for me in a dark room early in the morning or late at night. The hue control and other light functions work well though and the attachment for curved monitors attached easily. This seems like a good product for most monitors just not the one I have. ... show more

Couldn't be happier with this product. It attaches to the top of my curved monitor and provides several different light settings. You can choose warm or cool or values in between and also choose between several brightness options from low to high. The controller makes everything easy to power on, control and adjust. I really like this light. I bought the two other versions and ended up sending those back. I wanted to be able to use two with one controller. They are expensive, but worth the money imo. I tried to connect the second controller I could use it at my other desk about 10 ft away. just to be able to turn these off/on. Don’t know if it’s possible, can’t get it to work. Two small negatives, you have your hover over the controller to activate, so sometimes it takes a couple times to get it to activate. I don’t believe the auto dimming feature actually works that I can see. This is true for the other two models that I owned. Even with these negatives, the lights are worth it. ... show more

    • Exactly as advertised
This is an expensive lamp, hence i put off buying it for a long time. But now that i've been using it, i'm sorry I didn't buy it sooner. No shadows from the overhead iight or screen glare from desk lamps. It feels well made and the light control puck is heavy and well designed. There are cheaper clones out there but given the number of complaints about the lesser units, i decided to go with the top of the line and i'm glad i did. One caveat, plug it into a charging brick (2 amps +) instead of the computer usb port and you'll avoid any chance of flicker. ... show more
