This donut is very cute. We hate the mournful look our dogs get when they are coned, and this makes coning much more pleasant for everyone. Our dog is 75 lbs with a long snout, and the donut fits very well. It prevents her from licking at her sensitive skin when it flares up. Note that if your dog has an eye condition, you should get a proper traditional plastic cone, as this will not prevent a dog from scratching her face with hind paws. I like that it is soft and doesn’t make noise when they scratch. Just make sure your pets collar is snug so that they can’t push the donut off with their paws. The collar goes looped inside the donut. The air has stayed inside so far. Easy to wipe clean. Size is pretty spot on. Easy for your pet to rest on to sleep ... show more

This donut is better than a cone! The velcro strap allows it to be adjustable and it doesn't slide off easily. She is a large, white German shepherd and the XL is perfect. She doesn't seem too bothered by it but struggles to lay her head down to sleep comfortably with it on, but she is still able to lay down. She also has better peripheral vision with this on vs. a cone. She is able to eat and drink out of her bowl with it on pretty easily too. Plus the design is so cute. Definitely recommend this over the cone of shame! It is easy to inflate and has a zipper to remove the cover so it can be washed. ... show more

Our dog is fairly easy going although if you have a dog with slippery hair consider using a collar with the device to help hold in place. She was able to slip it off with a swipe but she is silky with typical lab skin that moves around

    • Hind Foot sucking...ugh!
My labrador gets ulcers inbetween his hind toes often. He constantly was sucking on them, worsening them. Thought about 'booties' or this donut. Booties don't allow for air circulation, opted for the donut. Okay, it's been better...but he's really smart. For 'the most' part, it really helps. He can't lay around ALL day sucking on his foot. He HAS figured out that after scratching his ear...he can hold his foot up high and suck. Smart. But I would truly endorse this aid. It's comfortable for him, uses it as a pillow. But he can't hold his foot up all day! lol Definitely serves it's purpose. I DO take it off him a little bit here and there so he can get a GOOD SCRATCH in on his neck and ears!     • Looked great but poor quality!
The loops for the collar ripped several times within the first 12 hours. Luckily we were able to repair them to prevent our dog from licking his stitches If the sewing of the material was of a better quality it would be a great product. Update: We have discovered that when the loops gave way our dog was able to access his surgical site. He did lick and chew his stitches which resulted in the site becoming infected. I'm very disappointed in the poor quality of this product. I have downgraded my previous review to a one star. ... show more

My dog is a German Shepherd, and I ordered an XL for him. This product is a perfect solution versus the hard plastic cone the vet gives. He can now drink, eat, and lay down comfortably while he heals from getting fixed!
