The coffee comes out really hot and stays hot. The taste is great. The only complaint is there is no on off and it’s supposed to turn off automatically in like 2 hours but unfortunately it does not so you have to unplug it. But not a big deal. There is no clock or timer. The only other thing the single brew basket is small. Their single brew only coffee maker has a bigger carafe. If I could give it zero stars, I would! I have had this item for 10 days and it stopped brewing. It brews maybe 2 cups and the 10 cups sit in the water chamber. Yes I’m pressing 12 cup on the front, it just stops working. The color plum is pretty but honestly the size isn’t really that much smaller. For the a quarter of the price I could have gotten a more reliable, programmable coffee maker. I opted for this because it’s supposed to be smaller and the plum is so pretty. This is a good coffee pot with only a few drawbacks. The machine was easy to set up and figure out, and it was all packed neatly and tightly. Don't be worried about the manual mentioning a magnetic piece for piercing the tops of pods: it seems to now be a standard part that doesn't need to be put on or taken off. The machine is quiet, only making a hum that is easy to talk over, and brews hot coffee quickly. However, if you aren't using it every single day (I bought this for after school tutorial as a treat for my students), you need to take care to dry the machine thoroughly after every use! The water reservoir itself is fine (although misleadingly shiny on the inside) if a bit difficult to dump out, but the basket area keeps water in it like a swamp! The included reusable basket has a solid bottom, not mesh, so brewed coffee will just sit in there and might splash you when you go to dump it, and for some reason water just does not completely drain out of the basket holder, instead clinging to all of the little flutes in the plastic. Also, be careful with the single-serve water measurements. Selecting the smallest 8 oz serving overflowed the 8.5 oz cups we had! Overall, I am happy with my purchase. The narrow size means I can easily store the machine in one of my cabinets, and I like that I can get a pitcher of hot water for hot cocoa or tea out of the same machine that my students can easily use to brew individual servings of (decaf) coffee and feel a little bit like they're in a fancy coffee shop instead of an old concrete block classroom. ... show more

I have had several coffee makers and needed both carafe style for entertaining and single coffee pod style when it is only me for one cup. I have never been truly satisfied with the coffee makers I have had. I purchased this one to give it a try, but with some skepticism. I am SO PLEASED! It is so much simpler to use and clean, less counter space required, attractive appearance, combined carafe and single serving from pods with simple switching from one mode to the other and basically solves all my previous coffee maker complaints. For some reason we have to push the start button, let it make coffee, then push the start button again for it to make the full pot we want. It makes good coffee, but this is very annoying. Kind of user unfriendly.

We purchased this earlier this week. We choose to use the kcup brew as it is most convenient for us. It worked consistently for 2 weeks but now everyday the brew size is inconsistent. We select 12 oz brew and we only get 2 oz. We make a second attempt as not to waste the kcup coffee Then we select brew a second time and then u get 8 oz or 10 oz brew. It's annoying and inconvenient. It's a waste of time and I don't like it. Plus the taste of the brew is average, very inconsistent. I've purchased 3 different types of coffee brands and favors... The Bella VersaBrew is amazing — it brews amay coffee every time, I use K-Cups and my husband uses ground coffee. Both work perfectly! Seaglass color is perfect for my kitchen, and I love the the big water tank and how easy it is to clean. The iced coffee feature has also been such a great bonus.
