I love this thing. A single cup coffee maker is all that is needed in my household but I struggle with Keurig. I do not like using K cups and the accessory filter basket for using your own grounds is frustrating and poor in design. I tried a Hamilton Beach Scoop single cup maker and it did the basic job but the taste of the coffee had no depth, likely from the shallow, flat filter for the grounds that also did not hold enough for my preference of strong, bold coffee. I went on a search for a better single cup maker that had a convenient filter for using your own grounds and would also produce a satisfying, cup of coffee. There are limited consumer options in that market. I decided to take a chance on this one and I am so pleased with it! There are two filters, one for K cups and one for your own grounds. They are easily swapped out and easy to empty and clean. It takes up very little space on the counter and doesn't look weird. I like that I can use a regular mug or travel one with the height adjustment on the tray and no splash out onto the counter so far when it's brewing. Most importantly, I can put ample, fresh grounds of my choosing in the filter basket to get a delicious, bold and hot cup of coffee!!! I am a purist with coffee and want plain black coffee with depth of flavor and nothing added but I am picky about taste and strength. The single cup loose coffee brewer I used for years foolishly changed their design and it no longer makes decent coffee, and I refuse to buy expensive wasteful pods! Pod machines just don't work with loose coffee, and all the name brand machines made for loose coffee have issues, so I took a chance on this Bella Single Serve Coffee Maker and it works great! I’ve had a lot of coffee makers, regular drip, French press, pour over, a real kurieg, a Nespresso vertuo, I’ve tried everything. This is the best little coffee maker I’ve ever used. My kurieg always made weak coffee but you choose how much water you use for each cup here so you always get nice strong coffee. It's cute, compact, easy to use, and a decent price. But unfortunately the k cups explode most of the time. It leaves a mess inside the machine and drops coffee grounds into my mug. I'm going to go back to my trusty keurig even though it's pricier.

Thus far, I’m very happy w/this coffee maker. It brewed quickly, was hot & the fact that one can use their own grounds is essential to me. Also, the feature of being able to adjust the shelf to either a regular cup or a travel mug is a plus. It has an adjustable height base for travel mugs up to regular mugs. It only holds 14oz. Of water at a time. So filling a 20oz travel mug has to be added to(can use the same pod) to get a full cup. (you have to add the right amount the second time around.) Does a great job of heating the water. Machine does cool off fast. You will have to run water through the machine a couple of times without the pod holder to get it clean (especially after cappuccino or hot chocolate pods). This machine use #2 pods not the original pods ( which are smaller). Also works great just running hot water for a tea bag in your cup. Price was a big factor also. Great Price! ... show more

PROS: It doesn't take up much space. Very quick to brew even 14oz. Easily switch between gounds and pods. *Adjustable bottom tray makes for using mug vs tall carafe (definitely necessary because of splashout). CONS: Splatters if cup isn't at the closest possible height. *Ability to adjust height but the mechanism is only the two plastic prongs that hold the tray up. With time and weight of cup, probably will break off eventually. Cord storage is just a velcro wrap that holds cord. No place to store reusable basket or pod basket not bring used. OVERALL: Probably could have found a better quality product for the price. ... show more
