  • The best mouse I've used
Style: Pro Click V2 Vertical
I have fairly large hands and this mouse is almost too small. I think for most people this will be a good fit. Okay, it's different. It may take some getting used to if you are really used to a regular mouse. I started getting carpel tunnel symptoms whiles working at an insurance agency. I went and bought an upright mouse and the pain went away almost immediately. I then got an ergonomic keyboard and made myself get used to it. MS used to my an awesome ergo keyboard but discontinued it. They are worth $$$ on EBay now if you know what I'm talking about. Anyways, I like the mouse. It feels like a quality product. This is for right hand only. It has a right side lip the prevents my pinky from dragging on the mouse pad. It's fairly light. I like that it can be used as a cordless mouse or corded. It has a USB A dongle in the base. It can connect via Bluetooth. It has like an LED ring around the base the changes color. I don't have any of the Razor software installed to control LED behavior because I don't even really want that feature. But sure it looks nicer than not having it. There's a top button that controls...I don't even remember watch you call it. That's funny cause I'm at IT tech....or was net engineer now. Anyways you hit the button and there is 5 levels of mouse movement sensitivity. I like level 3. There is a thumb groove on the left with buttons above and below your grip. I've heard some people don't like this particular layout. I think it feel fairy natural but I tend to accidentally tap the buttons on occasion resulting is my browser page going back or sometimes forward.... Here's how you know it ergonomic. Hold your arms out in front of you straight with your fingers pointing straight. Let our hand relax and droop. Lower your arms onto your keyboard and mouse and see how they fit....You have to collapse your hand around the mouse purring strain on your wrist. You have to flatten your left hand. This particularly hurts me. My ergo keyboard puts my hand at a more natural angle. Mouse came with a USB A dongle and a USB A to C cable. If I lost this one, I'd get another. ... show more

  • Excellent first truly vertical mouse from Razer. Now - make an ultimate version.
Style: Pro Click V2 Vertical
I had this thing boxed up for return more times than I can count (seriously) but I kept taking it back out for another look. I am selling my other mice and running this one as my main. I'm coming from a trackball main (Nulea M505) and a basilisk v3 pro for gaming. This is an evoluent wireless mouse with a razer sensor, better buttons, RGB, and synapse 4 software. The form factor is fantastic. There are some things that people will gripe on regarding the form factor, but they will be entirely subjective because each person is different. Try running aim labs with this vs a regular mouse and you will find one glaringly obvious point - you're hand doesn't hurt or get as tired or fatigued using the vertical mouse. I have been searching for a vertical mouse that can use to replace both my trackball and my gaming mouse (basalisk v3 pro). One that was made by a reliable company like corsair, hp, razer, or logitech. The MX vertical and MX master are a no go for gaming due to the click latency and polling. We've been waiting on Logitech to do something, but they refuse due to competition with their gseries mice. Trackballs can game and they make gaming trackballs (Ltracs and Gameball), but no trackball is perfect. AND with every single trackball I have ever had - they eventually develop sticking issues with the ball. I could purchase 3 Nulea M505 trackball mice for the price of one of these Razer proclick v2 vertical mice, but It's only good for mousing on basic business tasks and not for gaming. This mouse is quite competent for gaming. YES FPS and MMO games too. I would have liked to see Razer implement their rotational software because everyone will hold it slightly different, and this is true with any mouse. You can just download Raw Accel and that will fix it for you. BUT I learned to hold the mouse so that the default (14 degrees) is a straight line for me when I move the cursor left to right. Poilling is great at 1000 HZ and you can turn it down to conserve battery. The battery is bigger than my Basalisk v3 pro (just based on average usage) but I don't know by how much. I couldnt find specs on the battery. Gaming on it at 1000hz and full rgb ligbhting, and switching to no rgb and 250hz for office tasks, I use about 3% a day with over 12 hours (8 hours work and 4 hours gaming). I could not keep that pace for more than a week and would eventually drop gaming a few hours or altogether for a few days. Meaning the mouse should last 6 weeks PLUS on a single charge and up to 6 months if you tone it down on the polling for office tasks. I would have liked more - of course who wouldn't. I would have liked to see an infinite scroll wheel, onboard memory for saving profiles, the Razer rotational software enabled in synapse, and I dunno maybe and extra button next to right click. HOWEVER, that would dramatically increase the price of this mouse to well over $200. Would I pay another $100 for those features? After using the mouse for a week I most definitely would. BUT seeing the sticker shock would have prevented me from even trying as I would have relied on the reviews alone. If you buy this, put your other mice away for a week and main this before returning. Give it a serious look - it deserves it. The packaging on certain things about the product were carefully thought out I love that the dongle tray on the mouse is magnetic. Great Job Razer - no Make the pro version with the features I described so I can give you more money. ... show more

  • A Beautifully Designed and Thought Out Vertical Mouse A Beautifully Designed and Thought Out Vertical Mouse
Style: Pro Click V2 Vertical
So I have tried the Logitech Lift and the Keychron M5. My original mouse is a Cherry MX 4500. Both the Logitech and the Keychron mouse suffer from too much vertical placement of the buttons and too narrow a space between the thumb and your fingers. The Keychron also suffers from that side scroll wheel - that's where the buttons need to be - and a ledge on the bottom right of the mouse, forcing your pinky up. This mouse solves most of these issues. It sits comfortably back in your hand, there is almost enough space between the thumb and fingers to be comfortable, and the height means your fingers have plenty of room. However, the Razer vertical mouse has a unique problem in that you can not use the middle mouse button and either of the side buttons at the same time, because of how everything is place and the vertical axis of the buttons. If Razer could match the angle to the Cherry MX that would fix everything. One other thing I noticed... I can swing the Cherry mouse side to side and it keeps a straight horizontal axis, because how the Razer vertical mouse is held, it moves in more of an angle. All that said, the Razer was a treat to unbox. It feels premium, I love the design and quality of everything they have included, I love how the USB dongle is held inside the mouse with a magnet, I love the lighting. It is almost perfect! If they would just make it less vertical, a little wider between the thumb and fingers and maybe give some more thumb room I would finally have the perfect gaming vertical mouse. ... show more

  • Comfy gaming mouse. Best vertical sensor.

I went through several vertical nice when my wrist started hurting. Most had pretty mediocre sensors for gaming. I also needed one that was big enough to fit my larger than average hands and this mouse fits comfortably. I can't speak on battery life or wireless connectivity as I use it mostly wired. • Well, they made an attempt at a vertical mouse. But it needs a lot more improvements. Well, they made an attempt at a vertical mouse. But it needs a lot more improvements.
Style: Pro Click V2 Vertical
For many years I've been using vertical mice and I'm also an avid PC gamer. I've tried out every vertical mouse that amazon has to offer. The one I stick with is the "Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse". Which is not a gamer mouse and is by no means perfect, but for me, it has been the best overall. So I was very excited about this new Razer mouse. I've been using it for a few days now and here is my feedback. Overall, I don't like it. I think Razer rushed this out and didn't test it nearly enough. It is NOT a "gamer" mouse. Razer is just using that adjective because it what their brand is all about. I really really hoped this was going to be the vertical gaming mouse we have been waiting for. But... sadly... that is not the case. Pros: RGB lighting. The side thumb buttons feel really nice. The thumb side material feels nice. Ergonomics are good. No wrist or forearm pain. And... the mouse looks nice from a distance I guess. Cons: RBG lighting, while pretty, is a headache. See software section below. The thumb buttons on the side could have easily been 4 buttons instead of 2. I thought this was a "gamer" mouse... The material on the "top" of the mouse sucks. It gets sticky and oily extremely fast. Like... REALLY fast. The scroll wheel is about as basic as it gets. Feels like something you get on a $10 mouse. The left click button is narrow. It gives very little room for your finger if it's not perfectly centered on the button. Which makes no sense considering its the button that is used the most. The mouse is pretty heavy. Because of this precise mouse movements are difficult. No DPI switching button. The "new" AI button is useless, and even if you used it often, the placement of it is in a terrible location. When the mouse goes into power saving mode, which is NOT optional if it being used wireless, it will make all of your other Razer devices RGB flicker on/off as well. Super annoying. Using this mouse will require you to use the most recent version of Synapse and Chroma software. When I was in the process of updating, I was informed that Synapse and Chroma were previously one software, but going forward they will be two separate software. Okay, didn't seem like a big deal. After everything updated, and restarted my computer multiple times, everything got reset factory defaults. All of my previous key bindings, macros, and RGB configurations were gone. I eventually found a settings migration options in the software, but... it DOESNT WORK. Well, it says the migration was complete, but none of my previous settings are there. So great... I got to redo everything all over again. The Chroma software sucks more than before. Clicking on things, trying to apply colors or layers is often unresponsive. You click on things and nothing happens. User defined colors or gradients don't save like they used to. Overall this has been a really disappointing experience. The mouse seems like it never made it through beta testing. The new software has new bugs and defects. A big step backwards. So it looks like I'll be going back to the Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse. And hope that one day, there will be a legit gamer vertical mouse made by a company that actually understands what a gamer mouse should be. But this Razer mouse ain't even close. I initially though about giving the mouse a 3.. or 2 star review. But in the end I actually feels like a 1 star. Because for me, it is flat out not usable. This is a good concept, but needs a ton more work. I want a finished well thought out product, not... this. ... show more

  • This is a half baked product. This is a half baked product.
Style: Pro Click V2 Vertical
As someone that has tested eight mice in the past half-decade, I happen to know what I like. I've had every previous iteration of the Pro Click series, and I can say that this is a disappointment not only compared to them, but compared to all the other mice I've purchased from Razer, Apple and Logitech. Let's start by comparing it to Logitech, because that's who Razer is aiming at with this product. Logitech MX Master 3 and 3S earn their reputation through: - Premium Build Quality (weighty, comfortable grip) - Customization (LogiOptions+ remapping) - Ease of use (Gesture button making the trackpad gestures accessible on a traditional mouse, a scroll wheel matched by none in the industry) - Ergonomics improved over traditional mice for most users Razer's Pro Click series has always had inferior build quality, but made up for it in the other areas. Razer Synapse has far deeper customization and remapping than LogiOptions+, and with this iteration, they've gone even further adding the in-app profiles and bindings that LogiOptions+ made their staple. Unfortunately, as my images below demonstrate, they do not work. My remap was simple. Razer Hypershift button remapped to the spine (the DPI/AI prompt button). When in Hypershift mode, my scroll wheel was supposed to switch from vertical to horizontal scroll. It will not do it. Whatsoever. Doesn't matter if I pair, unpair, repair, forget device, change from Bluetooth to USB Dongle, factory reset, uninstall/reinstall synapse. It. WILL. NOT. DO. IT. And when I reached out to Razer Support, the results are below. App Profiles duplicated into the dozens. Macros added that I never created. An hour of work wasted while customers waited for me. And to date, my mouse is less functional AFTER reaching out to Razer Support than prior. Before it was just that my Hypershift mappings didn't work. Now none of my bindings do. Furthermore, battery life. Razer advertises six months. I believe it is achievable... if you set polling to 125 hz and turn the 17 zones of RGB off. Why is there RGB on a productivity mouse anyhow? Is Razer targeting professionals or gamers with this mouse? I am aware that there is overlap between us. I'm a gamer as well. But do not make my productivity mouse last barely a day because you had to cram 17 RGB zones into the bottom of it. The build quality as I said is inferior to Logitech. The thumb side has a rubber grip like Logitech MX Master 3/3S/4. The click button side is the smoothest plastic I've felt on a productivity mouse. And since you have a handshake grip, if your grip is not completely relaxed, you risk pinching it out of your hand with your palm if you have even a slightly large hand. Functionality gaps within its own lineup.... the V2 standard has a tilt wheel. The V2 Vertical does not (which prompted my Hypershift remapping to begin with). WHY? Why is it not feasible to have a scroll wheel that clicks, scrolls, and tilts in a vertical mouse? You pay more money for vertical relative to its sibling with less functionality. Finally, and this is a nitpick, but not without merit. It's black. ONLY black. For those of you that have purchase previous Razer Productivity products, you will know that the Pro Type, Pro Type Ultra, Pro Click Gen 1, and Pro Click Mini all were made in Mercury White. So if you planned on upgrading your existing Razer Productivity suite, or have white peripherals (Apple Magic Keyboard, Keychron keybs in Shell White or Pro White, Razer Huntsman series, Black Widow V4 75%, etc.) you are forced to have clashing hardware. I asked Razer about this directly. Their response was that they expected their buyer to already have Ornata, Deathstalker, Black Widow Hyperspeed...... what do those have in common? They're GAMING keyboards. Ergonomics are the only redeeming factor. Short of the medical grade peripheral industry that focuses on ergonomics at the expense of everything else, this mouse comes the closest to ergonomically correct. 71-90 degree angle across the grip. Natural handshake, truly. When you do manage to get a grip on the device, it feels so good. So Razer has introduced a vertical mouse that could've been the endgame in the discussion, but instead is: - More expensive than its sibling with less functionality. - Lower build quality than it's main rival (Logitech MX Master 3S/4) - Has a AI Prompt button no one asked for.... - ... that despite the pictured user guide CANNOT be remapped to Hypershift with usable functionality. - Has poor battery life when it's full feature set (1000hz, RGB) is fully enabled. - Gets worse when you ask for customer support and makes Synapse 4 a glitchy mess for the device. It's worse than a paperweight. I have a replacement unit expected to deliver today to see if it's unique to my unit. But otherwise, I'm ditching this for Keychron M5, a product with lesser build quality than either this or Logitech MX but retains the true customization of both without the bloatware, and it's half the price. It also has arguably better performance since it's 8000hz capable. Or, I'll just go back to MX Master 3S, save myself $60-$130. If you are a true power user looking for your next mouse, this ain't it. If you're a gamer looking for ergonomics.... give it a try I suppose. But tread carefully. ... show more

  • Razer's Foray into Ergonomics with a Solid Vertical Mouse
Style: Pro Click V2 Vertical
I own a large collection of ergonomic mice ranging from various ball, vertical, and other ergonomic devices. As a user with actual wrist pain and spends hours at a computer at a time, this review is my informed review of Razer's entry into the ergo space. Firstly, I'll say the build quality is great. You should expect nothing less at this cost. However, price is forgiven for being one of the few vertical mice with a high 1000hz out of the box, although I generally only use 250hz and can't notice 500hz if I'm being honest (note that at 1000hz drastically decreases battery life- very unlikely to last 1 month). I've heard that the sensor is rotated at an angle, but could not notice this in any 3D applications, but have heard rumors of motion sickness for some. I'm happy to say I have not. As a user the can experience mild to moderate RSI like symptoms, it's pretty good. The issue with large mice like the MX vertical come down to how they can push your hand up, which can cause pressure on the wrist as the hand rests on the mouse. What many fail to realize is if you do not have good posture, such as a straight wrist and elbow, you are likely to experience a non-ergonomic experience. Many people seem confused about vertical mice. They alleviate some stresses, but like any mouse, it requires some input from you. It's all about trade offs. For some context, wrist pain can occur with ulnar and radial deviation (lateral movement), but if the mouse is the wrong size or if you maintain improper positioning in respect to the mouse, this can cause flexion or extension of the wrist (up or down irritation or forces applied to the wrist can cause discomfort). This is why the Logitech Lift works for me the best and my hand size, as my hand is perhaps a bit on the regular to small size. The question begs, why try a mouse that resembles the MX Vertical that was uncomfortable? A gamble for the pros of a polling rate higher than 100hz, latency, and better software (Razer's software has been superior to Logitech's). I was worried for the first half hour, but to my surprise, it seemed to work for my wrist. It as good for me as the Lift, but I'm happy with it. It seems I can get away with worse positions with the Lift, so take some leave some. I tried it at two different desks and seating arrangements- which confirmed the Lift is easier to use but the Razer works pretty well. I found that it works well with my angled split keyboard which encourages my wrists to be a quarter inch to an inch above the desk's surface. I've found the Razer is also like this. For software- I've used both company's software for over 5 years. Logitech is buggy for using beyond basic buttons, such as gestures for desktop window switching, which would not work consistently. Razer on the other hand, provides a solid interface, everything they've offered works as expected. Hypershift lets me get another 2 extra buttons by holding one of the mouse buttons. The two thumb buttons are rather fantastic. Very easy to press. I set the top thumb button to hyper shift. Mouse 4 and 5 on the scroll wheel, which means top [thumb + scroll] allows me to go back and forward in a file manager or web browser, for instance, very fast. The remaining keys are open for use for system controls, or a speech to text bind, which I have really enjoyed. In regards to comfort and pain for myself, I rank in the following order of mice I've tried in the past year: 1. Logi Lift 2. Razer Pro Click V2 Vertical 3. Logi Mx Master 3s 4. Kingston Slimblade ball mouse 5. Razer Deathadder 6. Logi Mx Vertical 7. Logi Ergo Do keep in mind, comfort is dependent on your own configuration, anatomy, and aliments. With that said, I bought this mouse knowing it was larger than I'd like for my hand, and I'm still very pleased. I would actually say this mouse is the best I've owned for productivity and is solid competition for Logitech. I would take this mouse over the Mx Vertical any day, it blows it away. +1's I liked in brief about the Razer vertical: + Fantastic side buttons (especially with underrated Hypershift feature) + Polling rate & low latency + Good scroll wheel + Good texture and feel + Solid mouse skates + Very good internal slot for wireless module (easy insert and removal from mouse body) + Battery is good (as long as extreme polling rates are not used) + Good USB-C charge/data port with no issues charging and using mouse at the same time Areas for improvement: - Slightly noisy left and right mouse click - Can be difficult in SOME configurations to lift mouse off desk (weight reduction and/or slight redesign for grip- however I found this was only an issue when not sitting properly) - In general is a bit heavy - It can be annoying to change wired/wireless mode switch and would be preferable to switch to wired upon plugging USB-C in Absolutely hoping for a smaller version that's closer to the Lift, but this mouse is solid, especially if your hand is large. If your hand is small medium, it can easily be worth a try if you are in need of a fast vertical mouse. ... show more
