I have used these traps for years. They work! Add some vegetable oil. I think the trick to these is that they be replaced maybe every 3 months; otherwise too much garbage in the trap thus in the hive.

Seems to help with the beetle problem.

These traps work however they are tricky to remove. You must get them completely freed from propolis before trying to lift them. Otherwise you end up spilling oil (which is inside the traps).
