Very happy with our SER7 Beelink. Have used it for 5 days in a row, 8 to 10 hours per day, as a software developer. Got it to replace a near top-of-the-line Mac Pro desktop (circa 2013-2019). My most time consuming task is rebuilding a Postgres database. It took 39 minutes on the Mac Pro. It takes 23 minutes on the SER7 that I'm running stock with the included 1TB middle-of-the-road gen4 SSD (but still a gen4 and not a gen3 so not short-changed here) and the 32GB of Ram that it came with. I installed WSL2 (Windows-subsystem-for-Linux) and went for the Manjaro Linux distro. So it's a hyper-visor situation where Linux is running with a Microsoft provided kernel alongside Windows but it's so well integrated you can almost forget if you are running apps in Linux or Windows. The Linux OS resides in a large file on the Windows hard drive that grows as needed. I have two colleagues. One with a Mac M1 and the other with a Max M1-Max. They both take 24 minutes to rebuild the same Postgres DB. That's interesting because the M1-Max is much more powerful CPU with more cores than the M1 but it takes the same amount of time and the SER7 is on par. We all use the same DB rebuild script which kicks off 12 concurrent processes. Clearly the SSD speed is the bottle neck for this task but I'm not sure if a gen5 SSD would improve things or not as it's not strictly sequential but also random read-write speed that is needed. We all see the CPU spike in bits and spurts and then it waits on the SSD. I don't have a setup to test gen5 SSD speeds so I'm only speculating but maybe it wouldn't make a difference since the speed gains with gen5 are mostly sequential (like large file copies). I was miffed that Apple stopped providing OS upgrades on beautiful top of the line hardware from 2019 but now I'm happy because this SER7 is better in just about every way. Beelink did a good job. While it looks like a toy because of its small size when you hold it feels like quality and does wonders for productivity and development workflows. I like the magnetic power plug. I know it's proprietary and maybe it will bite me later but functionally it's cool and innovative and hope they keep using this plug on newer models. The only negative I found was the bluetooth. Under high load (like when rebuilding a database) there would be interference causing me to not be able to use my mouse nor keyboard (both are wireless bluetooth devices). I suppose wifi may have also had interference problems too but I didn't try because I used the Ethernet cable. To solve the interference issue, I got a $9 USB Bluetooth dongle that I attached to a USB hub that I moved a bit far from the SER7. A little annoying but not so bad in the grand scheme of things. The SER7 is a $600 device that has performance for my tasks that are on par with Macs that cost $2k (M1) and $4k (M1-Max). Actually, if it was pure CPU tasks, I bet the SER7 would beat them easily particularly for video encoding. It has the same amount of connectivity ports that a Mac could only get if you paid another $300 for a hub to connect to a thunderbolt port. Now, not only do I have a real linux terminal, I can run real Linux GUI apps which is not easily done on a Mac. Hoping this SER7 Bee-link will provide reliable service for at least another 2 years and if so I'll be a returning customer. Made a convert out of me, I'm a bee-liever.

As the streaming wars continue to heat up a casualty in the fight is the direct consumer: you and me. How many emails have you gotten that say "Hey we're going to charge you more money because we know you'll say yes lol." Since I have tons of music and shows in digital format, I wanted a way to run a plex server in my house not on an old laptop. I wanted something that was easy to use, light on power consumption, and could perform. I think the beelink does all of these. I almost went with linux but decided on Windows because I have more experience there and so many things about this were new to me that I didn't want to get overwhelmed. I think in the future I'll upgrade to a Linux version in a few years (as hardware gets better too), but currently it's more than fine. For some power notes, I see 2 watts when it's powered off completely. On start up it uses 25-45 watts, and with two external USB hard drives plugged in and it actively streaming via plex on my LAN it uses up about 25 watts. On idle, once powered up with non resource intensive things running, it's about 20 watts. I threw folding@home on and with both the GPU and CPU doing work units I'm consuming 40-45 watts. So power consumption will largely be based on what you're doing with it. I think 480 watt hours (20x24) would be a good budget number for anyone looking for that value. If you're not using external hard drives it will probably be a bit lower but I don't know how much. I think beelink makes a unit that accepts 12v vs this one that takes 19v. The AC/DC transformer (power adapter) is warm to the touch so obviously some of that power is going into the heat and conversion. This is probably information overload for many, but for anyone offgrid or otherwise miserly about their power it may be good to know. Hence why long term for me I'll probably end up with a 12v version (more efficient) and maybe Linux just because of stability and processor efficiency. But that's a personal thing, I haven't had any problems with Windows on this machine so far. I would highly recommend more memory. It came with two 8gb cards and I happen to have a spare 16gb laying around so I tossed that in and it made a HUGE difference. It seems like 16gb is about as much ram as my personal setup needed, just to run at a baseline. Opening a browser on that machine was painful. So now with 24gb it's still sucking up the 16gb but it leaves me with a ton of overhead. Logistics wise I put this small box and its two hard drives (mirrored via Windows' "Storage Spaces") right behind my laptop. My external keyboard/mouse/monitor are all on a usb hub that plugs into a USB C port on my macbook. When I want to work with the beelink I just plug the single hub connection and pop it into the front of the beelink: nice and easy. For a few hundred bucks I have a great home theater / plex server in my home that is also getting other digital media via the internet via various methods.

I waited a month after writing this review to ensure there was sufficient time to assess the overall performance of the computer. Having built my own computers over the years, I decided that mini computers offered a good value proposition. After researching various models for the last six months, I concluded that the Beelink SER8 had addressed many of the issues that initially plagued mini computers, such as overheating, unexpected reboots, and WiFi problems. This computer is primarily used for office tasks and photo editing. Overall, I’m very impressed with the system. Upon receiving the computer, I powered it up and completed the Windows 11 setup. After confirming that the SER8 was operating properly, I added a second drive (2TB), which was an easy installation. The only issue I encountered was that the audio did not return after the computer went to sleep. However, a reboot resolved the problem, and it has been the only issue so far. I’m particularly impressed by how low the CPU temperature remains when browsing the web or running office applications, typically around 95°F. Additionally, the WiFi performance is very good. Despite some concerns from past reviews, I have not experienced any problems. My home internet speed is 0.5 Gbps, and I’m consistently getting 440-460 Mbps. My only concern is the longevity of the system, as repairs could be extremely difficult.

Great little machine. Unfortunately, it died after 3 months of light use and manufacturer will not return support emails for over week now. Contacted amazon and they said keep trying to get hold of beelink. Contacted asurion with whom I purchased protection plan and they said the unit is still under manufacturers warranty and I should contact beeLink. Needless to say at this point I am not amused. Buyer beware ... I truly hope this isolated incident and beelink will step up and take care of its customer.... One-Month Update: Disappointing Warranty Experience with Beelink Beelink has still not honored their warranty. After weeks of silence, they finally responded to my emails, only to subject me to dubious "troubleshooting" steps for a completely dead unit. When these efforts predictably failed, they requested a video of the process, adding unnecessary delays. They then proposed I ship the unit to China but insisted on avoiding reliable courier services like DHL or FedEx and refused to declare the proper value of the item. When I objected, they redirected me to a supposed "warehouse" in California. After some investigation, I discovered this address belongs to a container forwarding service. Other customers who followed similar instructions reported that Beelink later claimed the returned merchandise never arrived. I raised these concerns in a detailed letter to Beelink, but their response was essentially a repeat of their earlier instructions, as if they had no record of our prior communications. Dealing with their support feels like speaking to someone with amnesia—you have to start over every time. It’s baffling that a $650 product can't be promptly replaced through a standard RMA process. Instead, they deploy delay tactics, repeatedly requesting information I’ve already provided, such as the receipt, serial number, and specifications. I sincerely hope Amazon takes notice and removes Beelink from their platform. Their disregard for customers and lack of accountability is appalling. This review serves as a warning to others: think twice before purchasing their products. Below is the letter I sent to Beelink: Subject: Request for Immediate Warranty Resolution Dear Beelink, I am writing to address serious concerns about your warranty practices. Your growing reputation for delaying or denying warranty claims through questionable tactics is deeply troubling and has caused significant frustration, including in my case. The return address you provided appears to belong to a freight forwarding service rather than an actual warehouse. This raises a critical issue: once packages reach this address, tracking ceases, leaving customers vulnerable to claims that their returns never arrived. Numerous reports from dissatisfied customers reflect this exact scenario. I am requesting that you honor your warranty and replace the defective unit promptly. I am willing to return the unit directly to your facility in China with proper tracking and insurance to ensure accountability. I will not accept further delays or evasive tactics. Should you refuse to resolve this issue, I will escalate the matter by contacting consumer protection agencies in the United States and Amazon. I will also inform potential customers through public reviews and other channels to prevent others from enduring similar frustrations. I trust that you will reconsider your approach and resolve this matter swiftly and amicably. I've been using this miniPC for about a month now. Overall on top, I have no regret with my purchase. I must mention pros and cons. Pros 1. Small form factor with many cable connections - typical gears for office work can all be covered. 2. The included power supply can pull out enough amount of power to maximize ordinary use - including some scientific data analysis (Python and Matlab also image analysis) 3. Notice that the SER7's CPU doesn't have strong capability of AI. The SER8 will equip a suitable CPU for AI if you are interested. However, this is a miniPC - don't expect too much Cons 1. Windows authentication wasn't complete when delivered. I had to contact the customer service. They respond within 24 hours. So this is not a big hustle at all. 2. The Beelink BIOs is not really compatible with some igpu settings. Playing some computer games ended up freezing the computer in 2 minutes. Two technical approaches had to be employed - it gave me some headache in the first place. One, I boosted up the vram to 8Gb. Two, I downgraded the BIOS version to v31 from v38 (preinstalled is v38) After some tune-ups, everything works great. Some people say that wifi and bluetooth receiver is not quite great, but it looks like mine was lucky enough to avoid the issue. If you know how to google the proper information or know computer stuff, this miniPC will be indeed valuable.

Beelink SER5 is a great mini-PC! It comes with what you need, with room to upgrade RAM, and room to add more SSD & HDD disk storage. It comes preinstalled with WIndows 11, but the personalization/setup process has 2 snags. First was when Microsoft asks for your WiFi password it had caps lock on w/out letting you know, so if you can't log into your wifit try hitting the capslock and trying again (it only shows ***). Second after it was done personalizing and needed to restart it never booted back up again and no amount of pressing the power on button on the front panel did anything. I've had this happen 3 times now (subsequent Microsoft updates) and the solution was to pull all the connected cables (power, HDMI, USB keyboard) and then to put them back in. Really funky. I'm going to switch to a bluetooth keyboard and leave the Beelink in reach where I just need to yank on the power & HDMI cords for the next time this happens. I'm wondering if it is a BIOS battery or a BIOS update that might be needed. I checked the forum.bee-link dot com and saw that others were having this issue as well. Other than this one issue the rest has been great.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this machine. For the money its definitely a front runner. However, within a month and a half of owning the bluetooth radio just disappeared. Since it was out of the Amazon return window they referred me to the manufacturer for support. Before contacting them, I had exhausted all of the usual tech support things (I have worked in IT for my whole career so reinstall, drivers, etc.). They not only made me completely redo that work which was super annoying. In the middle of all this, while waiting for a response from the 4th or so back and forth with their support, it magically just reappeared and has been working since: no user intervention, action or anything. Now this to me says hardware issue but I can hardly insist on a replacement YET so stay tuned...will update if things go off the rails again. Also annoying you cannot easily get live phone support.

First things first, this critter is small, but they say good things come in small packages. In this case that saying is true! It measures 5x4.5x1.75 inches is really small. In that small package there are a lot of ports available. 2 USB-A 2.0, 2 USB-A 3.0, USB-C 3.2, HDMI and Display Port, and a 1 Gig Ethernet port. Inside there are 2 M.2 drive connectors that can handle 2 TB each, 2 DDR5 memory connectors (mine came with 32 GB), WiFi6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and AMD Ryzen 7 6800 CPU with built in GPU. The power brick is at the AC outlet so you need to plan for the room needed for it. This PC is my daily driver now. I added a drive so I can boot into Linux, but still have Windows for the few times I need it. This critter boots fast into either OS. It is quiet even when the fan comes on which is rare as it doesn't heat up much. The AMD chip has 16 cores/threads and beats the functionality of the computer it replaced. This is a good device that has the power to do what I need. I'm not a gamer so I can't talk to that, but it should handle most games.
