    • Not horrible, but not as quiet as I hoped
UPDATE - AUGUST 2022: The fan is dead. We had a decent run, but after several days/nights of it clacking away, no air comes out.. which defeats the whole purpose of a fan. Into the trash it goes. I bought this fan in October 2020. My intent was to keep this on my nightstand for sleeping purposes, but the bedroom also gets afternoon sun and sometimes it gets really warm in there even if I close the shades. This worked well at first - I liked the fact it was oscillating because I find it relaxing. The air felt cool, and even on Low the air coming out of it was still pretty powerful (not overly so, it was Just Right). And now, I'm looking for a replacement. It has started to get progressively louder - I didn't notice it until last night when my bf pointed it out. He actually asked me if it was stuck on something and then said he was going to go sleep on the couch because he 'can't stand the racket.' Needless to say, I turned it off. Final decision? I'll be moving this to my (home) office and trying to find a new fan to replace it with one that is actually quiet. It's not a bad fan, it's just not great for the bedroom. It's not so bad at first, but in my experience with regular use, it's not as great as I had hoped. ... show more

The 75 year-old fan in still operable. The 6 month old Dr.Prepare is not working. The cylindrical fan has quit. Of course, the warranty was only 30 days. That is probably based on a statistical model predicting "mean time before failure.

This fan is somewhat disappointing in that the highest setting still doesn’t blow a heck of a lot…very weak on power. That said, I do notice it blowing cool air rather than just push around hot air. I’ve got it on my nightstand next to my bed. It works well enough that I don’t feel like I threw away $30….but it’s nowhere near powerful enough to cool a whole room. It’s basically a one-person fan. As for the noise….I don’t really get what people are complaining about. It’s a fan. It makes noise…but it’s certainly not loud. More like a mild purr. Anyway, I’m certain there are much better fans out there, but I do think those are in the $50-$75 range. You get what you get when you’re trying to skimp on the price.
