I’ve tried just about every company by now with numerous intensity’s. It’s not fair to compare these to a real espresso machine with freshly ground beans. So once you except your slumming it. This is a great quick fix. Taste is well balanced and hints of chocolate. Has a nice fluffy top. I can’t complain 70 cents a cup. I recommend holding the button on your machine filling the cup to the top. Nespresso machines auto fill cuts the pod a little short. Fill it to the top of your espresso cup. These are my favorite non-Nespresso brand pods because they have the best flavor, are generally $0.20 cheaper per pod and they are the ONLY other brand that seems to use aluminum pods!!! None of the plastic knock-off brand pods are easily recyclable - you cannot toss a full pod into your bin, they must be manually opened and cleaned out first. However, these aluminum pods can be shipped back to Nespresso (as is) with their original pods, for cheaper and more sustainable option to the single serve coffee experience. The only negative is that it took 5 days to get here (and I was already running dangerously low on my current supply of whole bean coffee that was randomly discontinued at another retailer). Though my order timing is my own fault, most 2-day delivery options for existing prime members has been completely disregarded lately, and therefore I was out before this arrived 3 days later than it should have. ... show more

Update: July 10, 2020 The espresso is still great! The only issue is that once I changed delivery to subscribe and save, I've gotten the ristretto (100 capsules) instead of the crema scura... Twice already. So now I have 200 capsules of the wrong flavor. It's still a good flavor so I will use them but it's still not what I wanted and paid for. I guess my problem is with the warehouse that's sending the wrong item and not with Peet's (Peet's is still amazing!!) So I'll leave my 5 stars! Just wanted to share my experience. Peet's Crema Scura is very comparable to Nespresso flavors and slightly less expensive. I will purchase these just as often as original Nespresso capsules. My favorite Nespresso is the Ristretto (level 10) and these (level 9) are my second favorite. I will definitely purchase the variety pack very soon. Also, I've seen lots of reviews of capsules (various brands) where the capsules don't fit that great but these fit perfectly at least for the Essenza Mini. ... show more

My new favorite espresso! I’ve worked for Starbucks in the past, I still make many of the beverages at home and I can honestly say the quality and flavor of this Peet’s espresso beats the Starbucks ‘usual’ by miles. This espresso is complete— add a dash of sweetener and/ or cream for an extra something (I’m a fan of the Torani brand white mocha with a hint of rose syrup, or some peppermint CBD oil if you’re feeling it—delish!). This espresso has the right balance of strength and smoothness without being overwhelming or bitter. The aluminum pods are also nice, since they don’t stick to the inside of my Nespresso machine like the plastic ones often do. We decided to give the multi-pack of Peets nespresso pods a try (I was going to link to the page on Amazon but the insert link button is missing) and of the 4 this one ended up being my favorite for overall flavor and intensity. My favorite Nespresso pod is the Kazaar, but I find I really like blending it with another flavor. If using only Nespresso I usually blend it with the Indria or Roma (much lighter taste with Roma, but sometimes I'm in the mood for that), and for awhile I was blending it with the Guatamalan Starbucks pods (but after using these Peets pods, that now tastes super weak, even more so than when blended with Roma). In the multi-pack, the Crema Scura isn't the strongest pod - I believe its the 2nd lowest in intensity, so it really surprised me that it ended up being my favorite. I think the issue with the stronger ones is that they tend toward a more sharp, bitter taste, whereas this is smooth & creamy "crema" yet a strong enough flavor that it tastes like a good, strong espresso drink. ... show more
