I bought this key to recode because I was stranded in rural Utah. My original key died and using an ak-90 key programmer I was able to program the key. I have found in using the key that the interaction with the immobilizer on my car is inconsistent. If I turn the ignition on and wait a few seconds it works each time. If the ignition is turned on and the start immediate sometimes it doesn't authorize and I have to start again. It could be that the antenna in my car is not working well with this key. My experience so far is that the chip doesn't communicate as quickly as the OEM key did. Otherwise I have no complaints. ... show more

I'd already ordered a key on eBay (for $30) that was cut to match a photo I'd sent to the seller. I pulled the EWS unit from the car, and using an EK90, read the module, but it turned out the transponder chip on the eBay key was bad so I was unable to program it. (I ordered 2 keys from the eBay seller - one worked, and the other didn't). I bought this key on Amazon, pulled the transponder chip from it and put it in the already cut key, so now everything works correctly. The circuit board for the keyless entry was identical in both the eBay and Amazon keys. Incidentally, the eBay seller refunded the cost of the key I bought on Amazon. ... show more

I bought two keys (at two different times). The first key was perfect, no complaints. However the second key, I noticed the buttons were very hard to push. It wasn't that big of deal, but it may be for someone who has arthritis. Other than that, they worked perfect for my 2004 BMW 325xi....they programmed and were cut with no issues. ... show more

I had both keys programmed and working perfectly first one stopped recognizing the chip then shortly there after within 3 weeks the other stopped recognizing and I've only had them less than a year.

I read all the bad reviews and realized the buyers had no idea how to work with the keys and therefore failed. If you know how to program the chip with the AK90, it works perfectly. I have a professional key company who will cut a number of these for $15.00 each. I can easily sync them to the car placing the cut key ignition and tune it to the first position. Turn it back and pull it out and hold open button down and push lock 3 times to have it open remotely. Just make sure you do your homework with how to do all this and you will be happy! ... show more

Ordered 2 of these keys because I lost the only one I had, got both of them cut for $75, then used my ak90 programmer to program the keys using the aftermarket option. Put the keys in the ignition, turned it and it turned on the car no problem. Now I just gotta program the lock/unlock buttons.
