I use and buy a lot of pillows and I ordered these on a lightening deal because I am traveling and needed some. After opening them, they fluffed up and were ready to use quickly. I am a side/stomach sleeper so use them in front of and behind me. They were nice and firm and they kept their shape when I layed on them (not going flat like many other pillows can do). I sleep hot and usually have to turn my pillow over multiple times during the night but I only flipped this one once. I also didn’t have to adjust it under my head like I have to do with other pillows; it was comfortable as soon as I put my head on it. I thought I had ordered the medium firmness, but it was actually the soft. I wish Amazon specified better when checking out about which options you selected. Had I selected the correct firmness my stars would be higher, but for a soft pillow, these did feel like they had less support than I'd expect from them. But again, that isn't my preference so I have little experience to compare similar pillows to this one. For someone who wants very little to no firmness (basically flat when you lay on it) the soft is perfect for you. I like to have support, but not super firm, so medium is what I will try next. Packaging: The pillows come vacuum deflated in a big plastic case that is then rolled & taped together & stuffed inside a mesh zip bag (waste of material if you ask me, the tape job was more than enough packaging). After packaging: Make sure you gently fluff & shake your pillows once unwrapped. You want it to begin expanding & can take up to 24hrs to expand. Material: The external fabric of the pillow is soft but not cheap & thin. Definitely ideal quality for a pillow. Smell: They did not have a smell when I took them out or when I smelled the pillows. ... show more

There are a lot of pillows on the market and they all claim to be comfortable. Well, many of them start out that way, but after a few nights, the pillows start to flatten out and become uncomfortable to sleep on. I know. I've bought many of them. Because I was annoyed by the last flattened, uncomfortable pillow, I started looking for something that didn't flatten out after a couple weeks of use. I found these and boy, was I glad I did. Not only are they comfortable, they stay fluffy. I'm pleased. Plus, you get two and if you use one and set it to the side if it starts looking like it might flatten out, you have the other to use.
