the overall experience so far is fantastic, quality seems to be "Excellent" and installation was really easy for me, but maybe not as easy for others. The size and angles of the under-mattress support-arms is perfect for our setup. I chose to not use the wood-screws but did use the "plastic ties" that you must provide yourself. The locking mechanism is tight and secure and I placed that at the foot-end of the bed, the length is perfect and I feel more secure that my wife cannot get out of bed without me knowing about it, which is the purpose, as last time she fell and broke a hip due to her imbalance from dementia/Parkinson's. We both will sleep better now!

Nice item and seems to be well made, unable to give 5 stares due to the need to replace the first rail because of a defective locking mechanism on the rail that would let the rail to be pushed down without releasing the lock.

I am 81 years young, however I have developed a habit of falling out of bed, it always happens when I am in a dream, like saving a young girl who is caught in rapid water. In my dream, I hung onto the tree limb while reaching out to grab her. It wasn't as easy as it looked. My husband had to get a piece of ply wood which he cut to fix the mattress. After that it was a piece of cake. I am very careful to put the railing up at night, I can go to sleep without worry of falling to the floor.

After going through a home remodel for a stroke patient who was returning home from the hospital, the bigger concerns to deal with were how the bed frame would work. The patient while in the hospital had a similar bed locking frame to use when standing up right and getting in or out of bed and while the concept was simple, the search for a near perfect match was a bit challenging even for amazon search results. The decision to pick this one up came after realizing how well it would hold and once it arrived, the installation required some custom work as I preferred to drill into the bed frame that was being used. The frame was made mostly of metal since a metal frame was used for an automatic lifting/declining bed set. After using the provided screws, 4 holes were made and 12 screws had been used to lock in the install. The patient was able to pull and push off it and still maintain movement without problems. Worked for the task.

15 minutes?? Maybe if you are a carpenter who works with drills and wood all day you could do it in that. Not a 70 year disabled woman with a 75 year old husband. We thought it bolted together and then slid beneath the mattress and box springs, not bolted to the bed frame!! I am going to have to send it back now. My husband really needed it too. He often rolls off the side of our King sized bed. Zip ties instead of bolts? RIGHT! NOT LIKELY.
