I bought this bed rail for my grandmother. She is an 80-year-old woman living alone, and this bed rail can help her get in and out of bed better. Its assembly is very simple - even someone like me who has no technical skills can complete it easily! The clear instruction manual enabled me to complete the assembly from unpacking in just half an hour. I have personally tested it and found that even when using the maximum lift setting, there was no shaking at all when my grandma pulled. This sense of security alone is worth all the money spent. Night lights are also a great addition. This worked very well when she went to the toilet at night. The storage bag is also very practical. We put her daily medicine, glasses and even a small water bottle in it, and they could be easily accessed when she was watching TV.

This guardrail is very easy for me to set up. It works very well on our bed, which gives me enough support to help me get up and down without falling. I used to ask my child to help me get up and down occasionally, but now I don't need it anymore. I thought I wouldn't care about this small exercise to activate the night light, but it turns out to be one of my favorite features. This is a small and simple function, but to be honest, it's a good idea. I like to use the pocket to store my mobile phone and reading materials, and keep these things at hand for easy access to them. This is another simple, smart and useful function. Overall, this is a good bed guardrail.

This is an assistive device to help with safely getting in and out of bed. We ordered it for an elderly family member who broke their arm and needed a hand getting out of bed until the break heals. What I Liked The bar came with straightforward instructions that were relatively easy to assemble. The only area where I struggled was with the cross bar that goes between the two feet - I couldn’t get the holes to line up with the screws. I was worried that the horizontal bar wouldn’t have enough leverage under the bed, but after putting it between the mattress and box spring, it did not shift around. What I Didn’t Like The feet that screw into the bottom left a LOT to be desired. For one, they slipped around on the hardwood floors. We had to move the unit down a bit until both feet were firmly on an area rug. I also noticed that when I shifted the unit, the feet didn’t stay centered. I think I may need to adjust it a bit more to ensure that it’s safe. What We Didn’t Do The partner of the person who will be using the assist device declined the bag and light. I can’t say whether they worked or not, but I did think it was a clever design to improve the comfort of the user. Overall, this is a good tool and I think it’s a decent temporary fix. I just would have preferred it to have built-in feet and allow for height adjustment elsewhere.

I already had one of these types of rails on one side of my tall bed and liked it so much, I ordered this one for the other side of the bed. I have two pugs who share the bed with me, so now I am able to move around more easily and get up on either side of the bed, depending on whichever side they choose each night. This frame was easy to assemble myself and is nice and sturdy...the frame is curved so that a long piece fits between my big memory foam mattress and the bed platform, and then the legs of the frame adjust in height, so they can stand firmly on the floor, no matter how tall your bed's frame or platform may be. It is surprising how easy it is to set this up and position it under the mattress (I'm seventy and did it all by myself!). It is also so strong and sturdy, once it is installed, so that I can reach over and grab it and pull myself to the edge of the bed, then pull myself into sitting position and swing my legs over the edge, all while gripping the nice padded frame. The little bag, that attaches to the frame with velcro, is perfect for my tv remote--no more losing that in the sheets! Plus, this frame included a small rechargeable LED nightlight that you can fasten wherever you like using the strong stick-up magnet that holds it in place. I would have put mine on my headboard, but I already have a voice=activated lamp beside my bed. However, I soon found the perfect place for my new little nightlight--my two dogs get up every night to "use the facilities" but only if I leave the light on in the family room where the puppy potty is located. I was able to stick the nightlight, fastened to the recharger cord, to the side of the bookcase near the potty pad (see photo) and now I just have to turn it on before bedtime--saves me the cost of running the larger room multi-bulb light fixture all night. I can highly recommend this frame and the night light: I am feeling so much safer and more comfortable with a frame on both sides of my bed because it is so much easier to move around, sit up, and get in or out of bed safely, especially on my high memory foam mattress.
