Hubby and I needed to replace our probably 15 year old mattress. To be fair, the old mattress was doing okay, and it was very plush and soft. It felt like sleeping on a cloud.....until it didn't. Over the last few months, we noticed more pain in pressure points while sleeping and it just wasn't holding up anymore. So when we purchased this one, we were a bit hesitant. First, the delivery. I kept checking the expected delivery date as we were out of town close to the first proposed date. It did get delayed a day or two, which actually worked out better for us. Now, the main problem we found was that it was a no-frills delivery. It was not like a furniture or matrress-store white-glove delivery. We were responsible for taking it up to the top floor of our 3-floor townhouse and there was no removal of the old mattress included. As the mattress was quite large (king size) and heavy (about 100 pounds), there was no way hubby and I were going to move it ourselves, so we did incur an additional cost to hire movers to lug it up all the stairs. (Money well spent as they had it done in about 15 minutes!). And of course, we tipped! We are working on finding a company to dispose of the mattress with, so that will again be an additional cost. About 3 years ago we had purchased a mattress from a well-known furniture store in our area. That mattress now rests in our guest room, as the sides had absolutely no support and it didn't work for our needs. We hoped that this one would be better, and here's what we found. As for side support, it is well-done. It feels sturdy and reliable, so that when you sit on the edge of the bed, it doesn't feel like you're going to slide right off. It has a great amount of support built into those sides. I also loved the appearance of this mattress. The dark gray just looks nicer than a plain white or floral design. It looks very upscale. It is also a very tall mattress. I definitely need bigger, deeper sheets to handle the height of 14"! As for comfort, it is most definitely a firmer mattress than what we had previously. However, we have slept on it for about a week now, and we have no complaints. It is comfortable and supportive. We may add a comfy mattress topper to try to soften it a bit, but if you're looking for a more plush yet firm mattress, this will certainly fill that need. We did use a puffy mattress protector/cover on top, which helped even out the tufts a bit. That increased the comfort level for us. We have noticed a better quality of sleep. We no longer toss and turn due to pain at the pressure points. And yes, there is very little movement when your partner moves on the other side of the mattress. We also did something we never do.....we watched a movie on the new mattress, and we found it very comfortable! In short, in days of the matress-in-a-box, it's nice to have a good old traditional mattress that delivers comfort, stability, and restful slumber. Be aware of the additional costs you may incur (especially if you don't live in a single-level home!), and you should find that this is a great value by a great manufacturer.

I could not be more happy with my purchase of this Beautyrest Days End Medium Firm Pillow Top Mattress. --This is NOT a bed in a box. It comes highly protected in cardboard, plastic bag wrap and an end cap covering. IT IS VERY HEAVY. --There are two handles on each side that you might miss under the protection. --It may take two people to maneuver this mattress to its final destination. I had the delivery team leave it at my garage and removed it from the box before bringing it inside. This queen mattress is a beast! And beauty at the same time. It is huge, heavy, and beautiful. The pillow top gives just enough softness for the medium firm foundation below. I threw away my old mattress topper. As with most mattresses these days, it is only finished on one side so no flipping over. The gray color with a pretty pattern and accents looks amazing. So much nicer than the standard white mattresses. My deep pocket sheets fit fine and the mattress fits perfectly on my platform bed. I am a side sleeper and this has made a world of difference in how I feel each morning. While it's difficult to purchase a luxury mattress sight unseen, this one is worth it! So very satisfied with the quality, the support, and the very reasonable price. Excellent company and a great warranty. A must have if you need a new mattress. 5 stars all the way!

Not thrilled and would recommend that anyone buying a mattress take the time/effort to shop at stores to try out the product before buying. I'm very unsatisfied with this mattress which isn't my usual experience with the Beautyrest brand. I'm going to need to get another bed soon due to the back pain from my constant discomfort.
