I’m 70 and I have used a lot of different razors. Between a triple straight edge and a Remington electric. I have pretty much had a beard, goatee or mustache most of my life. Electric razors work really good on a beard, after you have cut the lines with a straight edge. I needed to buy new Remington triple blades and foil which was more than the cost of this new razor. This is an excellent razor and trimmer, as well as no rash on my neck. The trimmer does a fantastic job on my beard, except that I wish the dial trimmer attachment had more than 10 positions. The number 10mm is a bit too short on my beard, but I can deal with that because this is such a fantastic razor combo. I also purchased a zipper cloth type container which everything fit perfectly in. I hope I can find blade and foil replacements, which most likely are available - hopefully. ... show more

    • Trimmer no longer works after first charge
When I first received this set I was very pleased with the quality and the performance of it. I have a full beard so the beard trimmer was very useful, that is until I charged it for the first time. After fully charging it, it tried to turn it on. The digital display lit up as if it was on, but the trimmer would not run. It has not run since. Now, after 6 months of use the shaver seems to have become very dull and does not shave near as well as it did in the beginning. I would expect the quality of the shave to be a little less than it was when it was new, but I have had other electric razors last a WHOLE LOT longer! This is an awesome electric razor and trimmer. It is aesthetically pleasing. I found it to be compact and very easy to use. The most important feature is that it gives me a very close shave, and is easy to trim my mustache and my sideburns. I went on a 19 day cruise and had to charge it only once during that time span. I wanted to like this product more. My favorite clipper (the mustache trimmer) died on me not even a month into owning the set. I tried charging it and turning it on, but nothing. These clippers all take a long time to charge and you CANNOT use them while they are on the charger. I can't vouch for the battery life either. Loved the design but not the best quality for men looking for reliability. I use them personally but would NOT recommend it for anyone who's a barber. If I had to gripe about anything, it's that I wish the main clippers cut a little closer to the skin, but that's what the smaller pair are for I guess.
