Description

Visit the Store BDF is a premier window film company that offers a wide range of high-quality and stylish window films to customers. We have various types of window films can provide practical solutions for window-related needs, such as sun control, enhanced daytime privacy, security, decoration, opacity, and protection from UV rays. Our window films in various colors and appearance can add elegance and sophistication to your home or office. An excessive amount of water solution (16 oz. water + 8 drops liquid soap) will make handling the film easy. Spraying soapy water on the adhesive as you pull off the liner will prevent the film from being too sticky. To remove the liner, use two pieces of tape, attaching them to a corner (one on each side, facing each other). Press the tapes together, and then slowly separate the two pieces. The films are installed inside unless the film is specified as "exterior film". PRIVACY WITH THE VIEW During the day, no one will be able to see in, while you will be able to see out perfectly. Our Dark Black Film The dark window film will reduce the amount of light coming in. Beat the Heat Heat blocking technology in the film will help reduce the amount of heat passing through the window. Beautiful black film Black film will completely transform the look of your windows and outside appearance with subtlety. Same film the PROs use We wanted to bring the same films that professional window film installers use to the public. BDF NA20 and the Natural series window films are the same ones that are used by professionals. Many businesses and home owners have had this film installed by pros, and now you can have beautiful windows at a fraction of the cost. Enjoy a nice shade with BDF's Natural 20 window film. This film has a dark enough shade to provide daytime privacy, but allows relatively more light through than darker films. It prevents unwanted eyes outside from seeing what's happening inside while retaining view from inside during the day. BDF NA20 black finish provides excellent daytime privacy, making it hard for unwanted eyes to see through. The dark black tint of the NA20 helps reduce glare. The "20" in its name refers to the fact that it is rated to transmit about 25% of visible light. Not suitable for dual pane windows. The NA20's black-tone nature gives it an excellent heat-rejecting rate of up to 50% that keeps the interior of your home or office building nice and cool. BDF Natural series window films help reduce cooling costs, especially during the summer through the effective blocking of harmful solar rays. We provide tools and information to help make the DIY work easier. The video guide shows an overview of the installation steps. Reviewing and following the proper steps allows a clean and smooth application process, so that you can then enjoy the benefits of the newly installed window film - whether it is the energy efficiency made possible by a sun control film, the added protection and peace of mind of a security film, or the stylish aesthetics of a decorative film. Using an excessive amount of water solution (16 oz. water + 8 drops liquid soap such as baby shampoo) will make handling the film easier. Spraying water solution on the adhesive as you pull off the liner will prevent the film from being too sticky. This will also reduce or eliminate the potential for wrinkles and bubbles during installation. Once the film is properly placed on the window, the soapy water should be pushed out using the squeegee with appropriate pressure applied. Attached to the film is a clear layer called the backing liner. This layer covers the adhesive or cling side of the actual film layer; the liner needs to be removed when you install the film. The best way is to use two pieces of tape on a corner (one on each side, facing each other). One piece would grab onto the film, and the other onto the liner. Press the tapes together, and then slowly separate the two pieces to pull the two layers away from each other. Static reaction happens when the backing liner is taken apart from the film. It may cause the film to stick to itself, which makes that film useless. To prevent this, spray the soapy water solution as you carefully pull off the backing liner. The window surface should also be sprayed with plenty of the soapy water. This can be used to clean the window before applying the film, and allows you to move the film around on the window without it getting stuck on the surface. A daytime privacy film can prevent onlookers outside from seeing in while retaining view from inside during the day. The effect will depend on the brightness on each side: the space that has more light can be seen through the film from the other side, whereas the film conceals the space that is darker. This is why the privacy effect works well during the day, since the sun usually makes the exterior of your building brighter than the interior. Curtains or blinds will be needed for nighttime. Why does the film not stick to the window? / Why did the film fall off from the window a few hours later? There is a clear "backing liner" layer attached to the actual "film" layer. The backing liner covers the adhesive on the film so that the film does not prematurely stick. When you install the film, the backing liner needs to be peeled off from it. Can people see in at night? / Why is the interior visible from outside during nighttime? If lights are on inside, the interior will be visible at night because it is brighter. Curtains or blinds can be closed at nighttime to block view. (During daytime, you can see out while having privacy from outside due to the sunlight outside.) Why does the window feel warmer after the film has been installed? This is an expected result. The window with the film installed feels warmer because the film stops some of the heat. If the film is not there, the heat felt on the window would instead enter the room. Why did bubbles (or spots where film is not adhering properly) form after the film was installed? This is due to the moisture left inside. The film may appear fine when installed, but afterwards, the water can interfere with the adhesive and cause bubbles to form. Apply firm pressure with the squeegee and push out the water to prevent bubbles. Can this film be used on dual pane windows? This film is not recommended for dual pane windows due to the higher heat absorption rate. This can build up heat between the panes, which would stress the window. (Heat absorption is different from heat blocking rate.)

  • Good stuff
Size: 24in X 14ft
Accurately described and very dark color without having the mirrored-appearance. Used this to apply on 16 (!) small windows in my garage doors, to tame the evening sun shining in and heating things up. Made a very big difference in both how much light comes through and especially how hot it gets. Very easy to apply just follow the directions - lots of soapy water spray is the key. During the daytime you can’t see in from the outside but that wasn’t important to me. Just keep in mind the opposite is true at night if you turn lights on inside. Recommended. ... show more

  • I immediately felt the room get cooler!
Size: 36in X 50ft
I bought it and my handyman installed it. It went smoothly. As soon as he put it up, I immediately felt the room get cooler. I am looking forward to a reduced electric bill. Now I don't have to worry about my Yorkie getting sunburn because if I leave the house, she will sit in front of my sliding door until I get home! Even with the Levelour closed she would peek out. I always worried about the sun on her. Now I don't need to worry. ... show more

  • Pain in arse to install
Size: 48in X 12ft
Overall it does a good job once installed, but installing it sucks. I wasted a lot of film in the process.

  • Great solution — for sun and privacy
Size: 36in X 12ft
We needed to reduce the hot morning sun that bakes our closet and bathroom and heats up the whole front of the house. Yet we wanted to be able to see out. Blinds were inadequate. It was cooler within just a few minutes of installation. Even though we didn’t need for privacy, that feature works well too. (See photo where a person is standing with hands showing through regular window, nothing showing where film is applied.) It looks great from inside and outside. I followed the directions exactly and I thought it was very easy to install. ... show more

  • Hesitant, but glad I did it
Size: 48in X 12ft
Having had bad experiences with window film before, I was very hesitant to try again. The process itself was not fun! I bought a separate kit for application to help give me the upper hand. I set aside a whole Saturday as to not be rushed. I applied to a 8 x 5 window (3 panes). Overall the finished product is outstanding! I messed up on a couple edges and there are a couple bubbles. All of these I would say are my fault and lack of experience. The nice thing is that no one notices unless you really get up close and examine. The quality of this particular film is quite high and I will definitely buy again. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews (I read a lot before pulling the trigger on this purchase!). The reason for the bad reviews is almost always due to not reading the directions or just plain not being good at applying window film! Know what you are getting into :) ... show more

  • Designed for waste
Size: 36 Inch x 24 Feet
Product is user-adverse to maximize waste and profit. Adhesive is impossible to remove. Once removed, it immediately sticks to anything within a 200 mile radius. Making the film unusable due to wrinkling and diluted adhesive.

  • I love this film in addition to my solar screens!
Size: 24in X 14ft
Though I was apprehensive about ordering the darkest tint (without total blackout}, I am so glad that I did! I did not attempt the installation myself because of 20-foot-high clerestory windows. Fortunately, my handman is a former window installer. He had no problems quickly applying the film to the windows. (I kept my exterior solar screens, also.} I am delighted that I can still see the sky through my windows while receiving significant glare and heat reduction. Broiling Texas sun had made my living room miserable in the afternoons, even with my solar screens. Now, I feel as though a giant shade tree has sprung up over my west side. At 91 degrees, it's now comfortable and pleasant in here without glare and without having to lower my AC thermostat as much. Though the Texas summer temps will be higher, I look forward to continuing to benefit from this enhancement. ... show more

  • be sure to order enough for 1-2 additional windows
Size: 24in X 14ft
I made the mistake of ordering just enough for the job. Sure enough one of the window's tinted ended up with wrinkles. Contacted seller to see if I could get a small roll of film enough for one window and unfortunately they don't sell them in shorter lengths. Not wanting to pay another $40 just for one window I ended up just leaving one window untinted. Overall the film is decent quality although each film shows some tiny bubbles that never went away. The film did make an impact on temps. Not a massive difference but still noticeable. During the daytime the film has a reflective finish on the outside which gives good privacy. While you can still see inside if looking real closely its hard to make out the interior. At night there is little to no privacy provided by this tint while interior light are on. ... show more
