  • Perfect prefab box for Alpine Type R?!?! I think so!
***UPDATE 4/23/14*** The boxes have held up as well as the Type Rs perfectly! Granted, I've blown a few fuses here and there, but that was all my fault. The boxes' carpet has held up, everything has been working flawlessly up to this point. I haven't held on to a sub system this long, I've always upgraded every so often, but this time I think I finally got it right! Let's keep this simple. My system (in a Scion XB): Panasonic HU, Polk Audio DB401 4" in the dash, Polk Audio DB651 6.5" in the doors. MTX TE801D (800 watts @ 2-ohms mono bridged, underrated), 2 Alpine Type R SWR-1223D 2-ohm DVC (wired at 2-ohms mono), these 2 Atrend boxes, stuffed with 1 pound of Polyfill each, as suggested. I bought these boxes to replace the tiny sealed boxes I had these subs in before. Both boxes fit perfectly in the back of my Scion, I have them facing upwards. Mind you, I haven't broken the subs in fully (I've played them for only a few hours). I installed the subs into the boxes today, hooked them up, and went for a little drive. Mother of G*d. Let's backtrack a little. Prior to purchasing the Alpines, I had 2 MTX 8000s in the same tiny sealed boxes. I had stuffed those with about 3/4 of a pound of Polyfill. Now, the 8000s sounded decent in those boxes, but I felt it wasn't loud enough for my liking, but enough for the average listener. So I purchased the Alpines, noticed an improvement in both sound quality and sound pressure level (loudness). Even though they were in boxes that might've been too small, I felt the stuffing them made quite a difference. Bass was very tight and punchy. It was plenty loud, but again, after everything I'v read about these subs, I knew ported was the way to go. And so I ordered the Atrend boxes. And man.... what a HUGE difference. Nevermind those stupid YouTube videos about how the subs make the body of the car flex. My car is a Scion XB, a toaster. Cheaply built. I could probably burp loud enough to make the car flex. And for whatever reason, the right rear panel flexes so bad you can hear it in the cabin, loud enough that some notes may sound like distortion. In other words, those videos really don't mean much. Now, let me tell you about my 15 minute drive. I drove to a local shopping center parking lot, and cranked up Jay-Z and Kanye's "Welcome to The Jungle" from the "Watch The Throne" album. Maybe it was just coincidence, but a car alarm went off, about 20 feet away from where I was parked. My doors and windows were closed. Drove off, drove by a local dog park, had the windows down, cranked DJ Laz's "Can U Feel It?" (you need to download this song NOW), was driving about 40 mph and managed to set a car's alarm off that was parked about 4 lanes away ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD! That's impressive to me. Anyway, for someone who doesn't have time to wait for custom boxes or installations, this has been the perfect solution for me. These subs in these boxes provide probably more than enough bass for me. I'm talking about the bass is so loud, any more bass could qualify me for some kind of SPL competition (not what I'm looking to do). Honestly, I could get away with half this system and be satisfied. If you're looking for the perfect sub/box combo, look no further! *One last tip, the prices on these boxes fluctuate almost daily. I purchased mine from this seller for $31.92 + $15.62 each for shipping. Keep this in mind when buying. Any questions, please feel free to ask, and give a thumbs up if I've helped with my review :) ... show more

  • Very good sub box for the price. Good sub box all around performance wise and super durable.
This box was 220 when I bought one and they’re down to 170 something now which is a steal, I’ve beat the crap out of mine and it’s been in 3 car accidents and it has no air leaks, no bulging on the sides, very sturdy, not bad considering I’ve had this for 2-3 years and it’s seen hell. I have a pair of skar 15” 1200 watt max per speaker (2400 max, 1200 rms total) in the bbox dual ported 15” box. I had it running off a 6000w max, 3000w rms taramps amp and with it on rms (for the subs (1200w) power with my subs in a sedan is so loud you can’t hear anything outside the vehicle including loud vehicles and construction and makes the windshield flex and making the windshield wipers bounced up and down, it’s a very quality box with also pretty good subs in it as well, also has now made my rear view mirror fall off.😂 you can’t beat the quality for this price especially if you’re trying to go a little bit less expensive and you don’t wanna have to go get a custom one made (which is the best option) but for a prefab one with good sound and good airflow in the port for this price it’s a great option if you’re not tryna pay an arm and leg but still want good sound. ... show more

  • Great heavy duty box!
Apologies for combining 3 reviews in one, but it all ties together. Picked up a "SPW-1210 - Nakamichi 12" 1200 Watt 2 Ohm Dual Voice Coil Sound Quality Competition Subwoofer" ($160) replace an Infinity Basslink, Did a little research to find the right components to make this work. I used to run Nakamichi back in the day and was always really happy with it. Based on the reviews on line and the look and specs of this sub I figured I couldn't go wrong and I was right. I used the "Atrend E12Sv B Box Series 12-Inch Single Vented Subwoofer Enclosure" purchased here on amazon ($40) as my box, it's a very well built ported enclosure (went ported to get the even deeper bass I was looking for) It fit the sub perfectly, didn't have to modify a thing and at 1.7 cubic feet, it's right on the end scale of what this sub needs to perform. To run it I picked up the "Cadence Flash FXA1500.1 1500 Watt Mono Block Car Audio Amplifier" also picked up here on Amazon ($95). I was looking to slightly over power the sub and with the sub being 600 rms & 1200 peak, the amp pushes 750 rms & 1500 peak...perfect! The thing I liked about the amp, is it also has the subsonic feature that allows you to tune it down to hit as low as 15htz, which is bone shakingly low. I already had focals all the way around being pushed by a 55w x 4rms amp, I could have done more but it sounds pretty incredible as is. I wired the sub up to 1 ohm to make even less load on the amp, and I have to say I don't think I could have matched these components up any better. For a single 12 system, it's absolutely unbelievable how hard this thing hits, from bass to alternative to even country (yes my wife listens to that, lol). Feel free to hit me up with any questions you might have, I can't say enough about this sub. So for right at $350 shipped to my house and installed by me, I got an outstanding bass solution for the car. ... show more

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Subwoofer Box – Minor Packaging Issue
Style: DUAL SEALED Size: 12"
The Bbox dual sealed 12” subwoofer enclosure is built really well — solid construction, clean carpeting, and delivers tight, accurate bass. My subs sound great in this box! Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the packaging could be better. It arrived with a small dent on one of the corners, but thankfully it didn’t affect performance. Still a great value overall and would definitely buy again. ... show more
